Ferrari have earned that money from their diciplined dedication to the sport of F1. In regards to some silly farce of special treatment from the FIA you’re all living in the past man. It’s quite obviously clear who receives favor and it is certainly not the Scuderia Ferrari.
The only team to be in the sport every single year. The only team to build/own multiple tracks for testing. The team bringing the most viewers and fans, millions of people.
I will answer that. Image F1 with no Ferrari. Do you think as many people would watch or care about F1 if they were not there? They have earned that loyal support from years of racing, even when they were doing lousy. Personally, I'm against giving them more money than the others. But they do contribute to the success of F1 commercially. That is a fact. Force India became Racing Point. Do you think anyone in India really cares? "Oh, I'm not going to watch F1 anymore now that a Canadian owns them!"
I think the point was Ferrari has been given advantages by FIA, regardless the reason, so don't complain if Merc gets it.
+1 Absolutely Ferrari has earned it. And I don't see why anyone is against it? The teams back then agreed to it. Any new team who joined the sport, automatically agrees to it. IMO If Ferrari where to leave, it'll leave a massive hole. Ferrari has always been the team people want to beat. It's the team with (by far) the largest fanbase...many of which will stop viewing. The teams will no longer have someone to measure against.
I will complain. Ferrari may have had more influence in the long ago past however Mercedes weren’t there.
Answer 1: Because Math was never my best subject. Answer 2: Because Monaco, Abu Dabi and Singapore are really exhibitions and not races
I heard James Allison and Toto packed their bags and left early today. Won't be there tomorrow. Alarm bells
[Autosport] Kvyat says he didn't have to go "balls out" or turn the engine up to put Toro Rosso-Honda on top of today's (3rd day) F1 test times. [soymotor] Horner: "El motor Honda es un cohete" (translated--> Horner: "The Honda engine is a rocket") [AMuS] Mattia Binotto warns his Ferrari team and fans (regarding Mercedes being behind): "Mercedes is good at solving problems. If they're behind, they'll catch up quickly." [AMuS] Mercedes‘s gap to Ferrari (Ferrari being ahead) is currently difficult to estimate. In any case, 0.5s but possibly even more. Mercedes engineer: "It's hard to read the lap times because everyone seems to be driving a different program this year." [AMuS] Mercedes‘s engineers also say that the gap to Ferrari is bigger in one lap than in the longrun. At the moment Ferrari wins everywhere against the Mercedes. On the straights and in corners. [AMuS] But even on the straight Ferrari is ahead of the Mercedes. Whether this down due to the lower air resistance or a more powerful engine still needs to be analyzed. It is said that over the winter, Ferrari significantly improved their engine. [AMuS] At Mercedes all their hopes are now focused on the big aerodynamic package, which should be introduced next week. Mercedes expects Ferrari to introduce their 2nd step of development next week too [AMuS] Helmut Marko also promises: "The car you see here, will not be the one driving at Melbourne." I'm telling you.... Honda is going to shock people this year and McLaren is going to look like idiots for dumping them. Let the excuses fly!
This would be nice. They’re are rumors of the mysterious Honda “vibrations” being back and effecting Red Bull...
A lot comes back to fuel consumption and reliability. Honda COULD have had more power but these two issues kept stopping them. But, Honda was embarrassed and humiliated. No way a company like that is going to accept it without a fight. It would be great to have 4 solid engine suppliers instead of 3. But you have to wonder about Renault long term.
