Ferrari posts record sales and profits year after year. The fact that people cross-shop is a moot one.

Perhaps, but a lot of people used to complain about how often they had to fill up their W12s etc. Efficiency in a daily driver, especially a Winter one, is something I'd rank highly in importance. It's one reason I can't wait for EVs -- rarely leaving my house without a "full tank". I absolutely hate having to stop for gas, especially when it's freezing outside.

Ferrari has expanded its market which compensates for some losses. They could’ve even showed more growth if it weren’t for the fierce competition.

The deliveries in its traditional markets also increase.

    Yeah yeah whatever....

Ferrari is losing market share due to complacency and riding on its laurels. Stop quoting a dead man in a dead era. It IS all about the numbers and the drive. Do you think the other competitors aren’t about THEIR engines?? The competition has been outdoing Ferrari and they’d better step up the game; not just the MSRP.

They have a broader line of products then in the past. As discussed in this thread that’s about to expand even more. My point isn’t that Ferrari isn’t doing well or that their sales hasn’t increased. What I’m trying to convey is that they’ve still lost market share more then ever and that their growth could be even greater. Further, Ferrari is producing more cars then ever which isn’t a good thing in terms of exclusivity and depreciation.

Throwing this out there simply as a fun thought, but considering the FL is apparently going to have quad taillights, and the fact that it already has (presumably keeps) the 308ish side scoops, I wonder if the front won't be somewhat reminiscent of classic greats like the 288 GTO, or maybe even take a few design clues from the 246 Dino? I think that would be kinda neat. We'll soon know!

Their business is doing better than ever and their cars are the best in Ferrari's history, which makes your rant rather senseless.

You can't have it all to yourself. They are doing so well, that the sales make me a bit uncomfortable. I don't want to see Ferrari turning into a mass car maker.

Quite disappointing if we have to wait so long to see just official Ferrari renders. The real car comes in Geneva a week later. Ferrari are focused on ... (what)?

I bet the F-chat and this thread did even a greater job in building the anticipation mood :D. Kudos to F-chat.

What's the definition of a mass car maker? 5'000? 10'000?
    They are making 10'000/year already.
Personally I do not like that.
Think Louis Vuitton or Gucci. Every kid has some.

Yes but this includes F1 and it is the biggest piece of the cake. Moreover in 2018 this investment was reduced.
Interiors of 488 and 812 are more aged than competitors.
I love Ferrari but I’d like it to be faster in evolution. But this is a personal opinion and I understand if other think different.

The best in THEIR history means nothing. They need to be the best amongst rivals. So your rebuttal is senseless galore

Well, wait for those SUV's to start rolling down the line.

    Lambo - SUV's
    Porsche - SUV's
    Ferrari - SUV's coming
    McLaren - Sports/super cars only

Hopefully the teaser video will reveal enough to have a better understanding of the new design. It's also pretty crazy that the name hasn't been leaked. Before the Pista was revealed, we at least knew the 1st letter!

    Dont think so.
    The V12
doesnt have it nor the 488fl i think.
Ferrari is still considered as small manufacur by the Eu, and therefore have this „period of grace“ to fullfill euro6d. But they need it in 2021 for all cars. In the same boot as Mclaren, lambo (even beeing part of Vag).
Porsche need Opf since sep 2018 for euro cars.

Even though I do get this argument, I am not that bothered, as long as the sportscars remain faithful to their remit and heritage. Ferrari's SUV is supposed to be something different though; I imagine something along the lines of a Dakar/Baja 3 door buggy.

    Marcel,

There was a very interesting article in the WSJ this week about Chanel’s long-term ability to maintain its prestige & pricing power through a strict focus on low volume production and careful product placement. Ferrari needs to tread carefully. The 488 depreciation may be a canary in the coal mine.

As an aside, I enjoyed the recent article in Enzo featuring you and that gorgeous barchetta. I appreciate Ferrari’s stellar V8 engineering, but my heart will always belong to the V12’s.
