    F90 (like in a SF90)?
    maybe F142M Visolevare :D?
or my favourite "488 Finito" :D.

The last one: 488 Superare ("surpass" in Italian)

It was the info I got from the dealer but you're closer to the factory so you should know better. Thanks for the correct information!

But you know the spider is more than ready right ;) ?!

Race cars' remit is to be as quick as possible and win races. Every little bit that helps that cause is welcomed and also beautiful in its own right, since it is purposeful.

At the launch of its new SF90 at Maranello on Friday, the Italian outfit revealed a new darker matte colour,

having moved away from its traditional gloss finish.

But rather than this having been done to simply make the car look better, team principal Mattia Binotto says that the inspiration for the move was to help reduce the car weight

    – as the matte finish weighs less.

"The reason is not aesthetic, but exclusively technical," explained Binotto. "Eliminating the shiny element gives us a few hundred grammes, which may not sound like much, but when you push everything to the limit even this has an effect."

If weight saving was what it was really about, unpainted car with just some sponsor stickers would save a few kg, not just a few hundred grams. Of course, it will then look very dull. I suspect there's an element of cosmetics at play with the new finish.

This is what was explained to me in the F1 Section about the matte finish on the SP90....

"If you have a glossy paint finish, right above the surface of the paint you have displaced air molecules (boundary layer) and above that the air stream (this is while the car is in motion of course). Those displaced air molecules (boundary layer) "kick up" the air stream disrupting the laminar flow over the paint. The matte finish "traps" those air molecules in the boundary layer thereby the air stream above has a more fluid laminar flow."

So yes there is good reasoning behind the matte finish.
Wasn't sold on it to begin with but now after seeing it on track I think it looks great.

F8 seems almost certain. 8 for the number of cylinders, F for Ferrari (kinda obvious, I know I know). For the italian word, I thought about "Ultima" as in "the last one", but rest assured that the jokes would be right around the corner..

Edit: It could also be F90.

How about F70 Ultima since they completed 70 years back in 2017?

Just took a call from Maranello:

    F488 Ancora

    In English:

    F488 Again

Correct translation of "Ancora" is "anchor" in english.

Depends on the accent: Àncora is anchor, ancóra is again.

    Or F72, maybe.

Would prefer Nardò, since they have it as a certain grey color (Grigio Nardò).

I think that's an Audi color. Ferrari's is called Grigio Medio.

This is nuts, grown man acting like little kids filled with excitment (even when some of us will probably pass on this car and get the next one V6/Hybrid)...I guess this is what people mention when that say other brands are not like Ferrari, the specialness of it.

    Yes... its damn special!
