I have only seen one 355 passing through my garage that actually has those expensive but quite useless pieces of plastic. Seeing though the cars missing those pieces did not have any problems with the lid, I do think it is useless. You may lose a point off your concorso tally, but that is it.
I have them on my 95. They don't even touch the engine cover. Useless. I wonder if Ferrari stopped putting them on later cars. Yes, completely useless. They don't even touch the engine cover. they keep the engine cover off the paint, dynamically. I'll send you a pic of where my paint is all chipped because mine are missing. There's a 99% chance there's a cross reference.. sjd
Hi Steve. On my car they don't make contact with the engine cover. The engine cover would have to be depressed at least 1/8" below the fender level for them to touch anything.
