Tarek. Are you trolling again? We get it. You're a P guy. As such, it's better for you to stay away from Ferraris.

He's a dealer who sold his 348 in the owner's section here. If you caught the back and forth between him and Nat on BaT though...LOL

A dealer, that explains his P pushin'

I didn't see that thread but have seen his numerous attempts at creating p-threads in the Ferrari Forums.

    I think it's humorous calling the 348 a pig.

I was in a late 80's 911 once, and asked my friend just exactly where the F the gears were? He said, "Just pretend you're stirring a big pot of soup...you'll hit a gear eventually.." LOL

And your 964 with its dual plug engine and anemic 247 HP is a better car?

While it now has a strong following with prices pushing $40K+ for an average sample, it's heavy for a small car, slow for a sports car, and has its own reliability quirks. Before the price bumps of the air-cooled versions, you could not give away a 964.

I love 911 Porsches, and have owned many of them but a 964 has never been a shining moment in Porsche 911.

wow everyone is so upset that i didn't like the 348, its just my opinion of the car, the F355 and the Modena for a first F car which is what this thread is about are much more car than the 348. This opinion is not for all F-Cars, my DD is a Modena and its one of the most reliable and most fun cars i've ever owned- and if i could afford an F355 to add i'd get one of those too- just didn't like the 348

I still love Ferraris, , My Daily driver is a Modena and its one of the best cars i've ever owned. Also love the F35 and its what made me want an F-car

I didn't sell my 348 here, i sold it on BAT and that 348 was a car i bought for personal use, thought i'd like it as much as i did the F355 but that was absolutely not the case.

Wait, you can't be a dealer and an Enthusiast? i've been an Enthusiast years before i was ever a dealer, so get over it- and what "p car threads" are you talking about? i've never made a Porsche thread here. My opinion about the 348 is what it is, so don't get your panties in a bunch over it

i'm not here to argue, just giving my opinion - F355 and Modena 360 are light years ahead of the 3

Wade, 80's 911's are different than a 1991 911 which is comparable to a Ferrari 348 and produced at the same time. Thats what my comparison was based on. Everyone needs to relax..geez. Its not like i'm a Ferrari Hater, my DD is a darn Modena how could i hate the Brand lol

Plenty of examples, and here are a few where you...

Created a P thread disguised as a Ferrari thread:

    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/drove-first-ferrari-f355-today-might-be-hooked.587459/

Created a 348 thread, bashed the car and then hijacked it into a P thread:

    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/ferrari-348ts-video-of-some-hard-pulls-exhaust-sound.590510/

Turned the long-term, ongoing F355 Market thread into a Ferrari vs. p argument.

    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/f355-market.487947/page-132#post-146285988

We've seen enough of your "opinions" on the 348. No reason to keep repeating them here.

OK now your being silly. The 355 is NOT light years ahead, the 360... maybe. Too bad is fugly. Aside from that debate, 2 very different things here your mixing.

I never said you hate Ferrari. I m sure you love. I also don't care you don't like the 348 different strokes and all that. I too love porches too especially the 993 and mid 80's Carrera, especially in wide body. Ok now that all that is out of the way so we don't go back there with deflection and redirection...

What I AM saying you never owned a 348.

lol, nice spin on those threads. I love the one where you say i made a p car thread disguised as Ferrari, but guess what Inspector Closeau, i BOUGHT MY FERRARI after making that thread actually i bought 2 ferraris after that thread... Of course i mention Porsche when comparing my car experience and i've only recently gotten into ferrari..

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but perhaps you just aren’t manly enough for the steering of a 348...which is why you prefer the power assist steering on a 355 and Modena

lol, you're right Mike, that maybe the case, also maybe i just didn't give it a chance to like it enough, since i had just bought the Modena and had my 964 911 in the garage also. We are all entitled to our opinions-

Hey to each his own, 360 is great so is the 964. Everyone likes different things for different reasons. I had an 84 911 and the 348 is definitely easier to drive to me. The clutch on my 90 TS is nothing I don't get what people talk about there at all. Whatever. The 964 has a "bit" better build quality and fit finish I do believe than the 348. It is uglier and sounds horrible though. That said I'd take one!

Definitely enjoy your cars, different stroked for different folks. I guarantee someone bought every car and sold it because they did not like it, 348 and 355 and 360. It happens I do not dispute that at all. When I happens other do not always understand I get that too. Its a personal decision so that's all well and good. There is room for everyone!

I still don't believe you actually had a 348 though.

Wow! Ha ha, well this has at the very least provided some great entertaining reading!

By way of an update, the car I saw had not been listed yet and the guys girlfriend talked about 55k for a price. Since that day, they have now listed it on a local website for $65k. Needless to say, we can’t agree on a value for the car. So, the hunt goes on!

I thought it might be worth mentioning, while I also love air cooled Porsches, and wouldn’t mind buying one one day, I’m definitely more of a Ferrari guy, and after hearing that 348, I can say I LOVE the sound. Thanks for all of the advice guys. I’ll post again should I find another candidate for me to purchase.

Man you guys are a tough crowd and have turned this guys thread into trash just throwing out BS replies pertaining to my opinion, one can't even give his opinion? - I told the guy to drive it first and make sure he likes the 348 and that personally i did not like it and prefer the 355 and 360, get the hell over it..sorry for stating my opinion. Made money or lost money on the car is none of your business and has no bearing on whether i like the way a car drives or not, what kind of stupid assessment is that..

If anyone drives a 348 and says it drives funny there is a reason. The inner steering rack bushing disintegrates with time. the car at speed responds really weird like it does not then all of a sudden in does overly so, it feels dangerous, oddly disconnected. You basically have variable toe. On the highway it makes you not want to drive it. It is flat out wonky. Like wtf type of thing. The 348... the bushing fails on them all, its hard plastic.

If you address that the car drives amazing if not.. well you may develop an opinion based on alternate facts. To say one does not like it is quite fine. No doubt. To say it drives and handles odd as a compelling reason to not like the 348 reason me a car was essentially broken. I had the same opinion on mine. Until I fixed my rack. Now its its just omg.

Unrelated.. people losing money on the 348 when the market crashed 89-90 was and the waiting lists to buy a 348 then flip it for 30K more stopped cold leaving speculators with hurt feelings and that really drove the 348 dejection. Prior to that buying a ferrari was like buying gold. The market collapsed at the 348 release time btw and loosing money got tied to the 348 reputation driving the lore..

In your original post you noted that the accelerator pedal was very firm but the linkage moved easily by hand. I'd bet the cable jumped off
the bell crank just in front of the air box. I was once revving the engine by turning the linkage and when I got in the car to drive the pedal was extremely heavy. Checked the cable and it had fallen out of the grove. Simply open the throttle by hand and put the cable back in the grove.

Porsche owners vs Ferrari. A Porsche friend went to buy a 348 a few years ago and the salesman almost refused to sell him the car because he said "as a Porsche guy, you're going to hate it". He bought it any way and loves it along with his Porsches.
