Sorry. I also have a FF. Accepting big ugly ass is natural for me, but I gotta say no to this. What are those two black things under the tailights?
It looks like every other sports car. Low, swoopy, aggressive with scoops and stuff. It has a windshield and four wide tires. Ferrari has lost its way entirely. I have sent in a deposit because it is awesome and nobody makes the perfect car of my dreams. Not even the old Ferrari... Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
The Ferrari V8 mid-engine product has become a "me too" car and the F8 illustrates such in 3 dimensions. This is the new normal... Shorter product life cycles, higher production numbers, accelerated depreciation. All typical byproducts of a quarterly profit-driven public company. Essentially a net transfer of your money (in the form of depreciation and otherwise) to Ferrari shareholders. And all entirely predictable the day that Sergio took the reigns. Too bad they can't cut production in half, and double prices. Turn over design to a brilliant Italian design house, and give them time to craft it perfectly and get it right. Bring back Luca to run it all, in Italian old-school manner. In other words, restore the mystique and exclusivity that used to come with a Ferrari ownership experience. Quality and quantity never co-mingle. Catering to the masses was never the Ferrari way. The brand is being whored out like never before. The F8 is just a vivid example of this new reality. It's all just sad. All standard disclaimers apply. Obviously this is just my opinion, which may differ materially from yours.
To nothing. It's just a marketing name so people can imagine it has more significance than it does. It's a 488 with some refreshed parts. It's no more a tribute to something than the 488 was. In other words: it's not a tribute to anything.
The more I see a reference to that rear quarter angle being reminiscent of the Corvette, the more I start to see it. Ugh.
Pista Spider is not listed as a limited run but as for production numbers, I would love to know if 499 is in the ball park. Did you get this number somewhere reliable?
How could anyone say 'the Pista looks so much better' than the F8? They are so close. My wife was excited to see pictures of the 'new' Ferrari. It looks just like the old one she says
I doubt Pista spider total number is 499...I think its more. Taiwan alone confirm 18 Pista spiders. Pista roughly 45 Speciale Aperta in Taiwan less than 5
I don’t see it. Especially considering that the Corvette designers have ditched the traditional four round/oval rear lamps for controversial trapezoidal ones. And also considering that the C7 looks like it could pass for the F12’s little American brother.
The dealers seem to be saying the same ..but there is a poster 'ppg70' who does appear to have a track record of accurate numbers spec etc ...he says its well known 3700+1200....so thats a big difference for sure.
As always, I will wait til I see it in person, but I think this is a step in the opposite direction of the beautiful 458. The 488 was uglier than the 458, and I think the F8 is worse than the 488. Though it is lighter, it looks quite hefty, and the rear has a lot of great features except for the jarring vents. The front has way too many lines, indecisive and confused. The 488 grew on me in person, but the 458 is still my favorite here. So much more elegant, with a striking presence that remains bold without commanding a larger visual space. The sharp Italia effortlessly glides through the air, less is more. The tributo tries its hardest to fly near the glory of former quad-taillight icons, but it’s just a tribute at best.
Interesting analogy, if for no other reason that I tend to feel the 488 feels synthetic and contrived, similar to an Apple device. So far nothing about the F8 indicates it will be drastically different in that regard. Clean, elegant, sporty, and beautiful in both a feminine and masculine way.
