'Arnie' will be back soon.
Turning rabid on Caeruleus11 was unexpected to say the least. He's one of our best and most sane members. Forza had too much Forza! Not sure what the deal is but I'm thinking the FChat talent runs deep and we'll find out soon enough. I just called my dealer and placed an order for 30 new cars - two of each and some in 100% carbon just in case....
Thank you for all your contribution and insight info. I understand that the planning for 2018 is the following: 1. F142MFL - F8 Tributo already presented. 2. F173 - BB in May. 3. F169 - Portofino coupe in July. 4. F142MFL Spider - Open version of F8 Tributo (Unknown name - Spider?) in September. 5. F152S - Open version of 812 SF (Unknown name - Spider?) in November. After all the discussions etc my personal question (although I suspect the answer) is whether any of the above models has been influenced by the new CEO. Of course time is short so the real question should be which will be the first new model of the new managment. Than you again
Its my pleasure share as much as I should. Let me fix a bit what you posted: 1. F142MFL - F8 Tributo already presented. 2. F173 - Big Brother 05/2019 3. FXXX - 07/2019 4. F142MFL Spider - Open version of F8 Tributo (Unknown name - Spider?) in September. 5. FXXX- 10-11/2019 For #3 and #4 let me explain. One of this two will be the 812 Spider and the another one I will wait before confirm to all of you, as you know all I have posted are facts and not speculation or unconfirmed info so I prefer to give you all information when I receive the full OK. For #3 there is a private preview scheduled in the same month.
I'm very interested in the Portofino Coupe idea. It will be a small 2+2 more like my old 456M than the FF/Lusso, or even the 612. Can't wait to see it.
My friend is in Sydney, he placed a 812 spider order. he told me The new car is V12 hybrid, mid-rear, Above 812SF,Same level as aventador . Who has more news?
This goes against everything we know so far. New car will be a V8 turbo/hybrid, not a V12. V12 will be for the next halo car, circa 2022.
Does anyone what F165 is? Image Unavailable, Please Login https://www.linkedin.com/in/leo-anastasia-09692550/ "Vettura motore posteriore ibrida" means "rear engine hybrid car" in italian, by the way. I tried a quick search here on FChat but there were no results.
I have to say I'm a bit non-plussed by this F8 Tributo. I'm sure it will be dynamically satisfying but they missed an opportunity to give 50 years of 'affordable' mid-engine V-8 what it deserved... a proper masterpiece of styling send off. I am not one of those who longs for the return of Pininfarina styling. They were great clearly but I am an even bigger fan of Manzoni and the factory in-house design team. One look at the FXX-K launch version confirms Manzoni's genius. This is the most exciting, dramatic and kinetic Ferrari design of any category or era full stop. The 812 is also a master stroke design in my opinion. And he didn't even have a clean sheet but he makes it look like he did. I was under the impression that this new V-8 would combine the best of the Pista with the best of the J50. That could have been great. It should have been great. They should have found a way to remove the 'dive plane' in the rear haunch air intake like they did on the Pista. Instead they just moved it up higher. I'm sure there are functional "reasons" for this but it looks even more awkward than the GTBs and actually now adds the insult of looking non-sensical now and dare I say it ... like a mistake. And was there really no other option on the front than to emulate Lamborghini with their fang-toothed catfish aero blade??!!! And the quad tail lights that look so great on the J50...how did that screw that up on this car. To say the rear looks overstyled and out of character is being kind. To be honest it looks like the rear on a car that you see when thumbing through a periodical cataloging every exotic car on sale and you see 3 or 4 cars that you never even heard of and made in something something vakia and you're like WTF ... how did someone think that was good styling? This car is not worthy of the heritage that a slatted Lexan rear engine cover on a Ferrari speaks to and that now seems like a soft move for the fan boys. And I have to also comment on the 'new' interior lol. If by new you mean merely replacing trapezoid air vents with round ones. Interior guy ... you had one job! I've never seen such a mailed-in revamp in my life. I mean why did they even bother. Yes I was totally amped for this car and I've been banging the drum on it for the week leading up to the reveal. I was hopeful that they would elevate the styling and the interior significantly as a real fitting 'tribute' but they did neither. It's still going to be a great drive I have no doubt. It's also still going to get great reviews, win awards and sell out. Yes it's your last chance to buy a non-hybrid mid-engine V-8 ... but dammit Ferrari ... shouldn't you have made that more special.
Face it. You had too much faith in Manzoni. He has yet to design a completely new car. What came out is what I expected. Mish-mash. But if you think so much of the 812 I wonder how you can be disappointed with this latest abuse to a PF designed car. Willing to bet the 'space ship' looks too much like a Mac and something else but we'll see.
Yes. I will face this music and own it. Those who said a meal should never be reheated 3 times were right! Lol
This is wild-eyed speculation but after scrutinizing the camouflage on the F173 and trying to discern the true lines of the car underneath ... I have a radical theory that it could feature a much larger proportion of side glass than current cars and that the side glass will extend lower and further back than we are used to. I reiterate this is purely wild speculation but if true could be interesting. I'm sure someone will nix this theory in due course but it's fun trying to figure out. We shall know soon enough and the pace of new model launches this year is going to seem like a fire hose compared to the past.
There is nothing definitive. It can be argued either way. And I don't see the utility of fixating on this. I have my theories. Other people have theirs. And they are just theories and interpretations and speculations and that's ok. We're not playing for money here. Before anyone gets too exercised over this they should ask themselves...does Ferrari itself even now know for sure what 15 models they are going to introduce ? Isn't there likely some play in 2 or 3 of the slots especially the ones further out? It could also easily be 1 more than 15. Or 1 less. It's not set in stone. I also think it would be in Ferrari's best interest to be purposely and vigorously ambiguous about the LaFerrari replacement ... if it's coming...when it's coming...it's part of this plan or that plan or another plan. It might come in 3 years. It might come in 5. If I was Ferrari that's exactly how I would respond about that car. Because everyone knows that is going to be THE car to have and they don't want everyone tugging on their elbow and driving them crazy about getting this car for the next 3 years. So for this and many reasons nobody can say to a certainty whether it ends up being one of the 15 or not. The point is we know it's coming. What we don't know is this ... and this is a much more interesting question... If the Laferrari showcased hybrid and electric-assisted power as its seminal technology that would proliferate throughout the entire product line up ( and which is now happening ) then what might the next hypercar preview as the big directional change for all future cars? This is a much more interesting question and ... if you think about it ... a massively more important question. And it would be too facile to say ' No more ICE and electric motors only .' Let's assume it's not that because I don't think it's going quite there yet over the next couple car generations at this company. So if it isn't that ... what is it ? If anyone has any developed theories on what technology vectors the next hyper car will point the company toward... that would be of interest to everyone.
Why don't you apologize to caeruleus11 publicly since you insulted him in public, and look at your crazy posts for both of your so called confidence level/prediction and attacks of others, before you open your mouth again? You essentially lost all credibility and respect, especially after your ban, F8 reveal and how you didn't apologize.
Nobody should take anything I say as vitriol. By choosing the funniest line from Goodfellas and probably the only one that contains no expletives one should think it would be clear that the intent was humorous banter and nothing else. I was not wrong about the F8 reveal. I am personally disappointed with it. But a lot of people are loving it. And it is in fact the last mid-engine car you can buy from Ferrari where you put your foot down and you don’t have to wonder if you are experiencing engine muscle or electric motivation. There are many purists our there who will place great value on that. It is even more of an end to an era than most cars which carry that descriptive. It IS also the last mid-engine V-8 F car you will be able to spec out under a half million and that is important to realize for many. This car will sell out and rather quickly. The fact that I’m not keen on its styling won’t even keep that from happening lol.
