The new Pininfarina is what the 488 should have looked like. I much prefer the hiding of the rear air intake to just throwing a hole in the side of the car and calling it a day. But that's just me, I like clever solutions, like the air intake on the 458 or the ALA system on the HP.

    Very nice.

This seriously looks like what I expect BB to look like based on the pics of the camo'd protoype car snapped at Fiorano!

In fact at first I thought this was a leaked pic of BB.

I am amazed how great it looks ! Without looking like an aftermarket kit. But then again its an electric car.

The real reason why I prefer the 488 over the 458 because the thought has always been cemented in my brain as all the past rear V8's the need to see the side rear openings. And this car takes it to a new level only if it was sufficient for a Turboed engine.
However I do hope PININFARINA makes a welcome come back to Ferrari

What I don't get with the changing of the models is the changes in aero . Is it just me ?

458 the 2 moustaches ? Then lets drop that thought . Really not needed hence none of the Speciale. Then the 488 looks better front end and new areo. Then the PISTA lets change it again. Lets add S-duct and different air rear intakes.. Now the F8 lets change the S-duct, and change the rear air intakes. This is what is confusing to me. Does the F8 actually have better aero than the PISTA ?

New car prices are higher which means so are used - correct? So it's all relative.

And I wish I could just go to another F dealer to order one but not sure if they will make it that easy.

so the battista is 2 millions !?

okay never mind then! But man, did it show Ferrari? The car really really is beautiful, I just hope the F8 is still designed by Pininfarina.

    I beg to differ.

The 488 was a great design when it was released and it still is in the eyes of most.

The look of any car is also often governed by how it is spec'd and optioned out too i.e colour/combo/wheels etc. Can make a big difference visually.

The Pininfirina design as shown is what it is in its own separate right as an individual design theme and, it doesn't necessarily mean anything currently sitting outside of that theme is unworthy of being called hot or attractive just because it doesn't share the same design elements.

pure speculation, but maybe to relieve high pressure in the wheel well....or just to add holes....who knows.

It looks exactly like my 488 in Rosso Scuderia which I would do again and again! I think the F8 looks fantastic and will do quite well!

Maybe different aero is needed or is improved for the stated brief. If I recall correctly, they are also going by the Luca decree of no big wings. So aero has to be managed in far more creative and imaginative ways, while keeping the same basic shape. Hence the S ducts, the slightly different intake shapes and the rear “spoiler” shape (without really creating a rear spoiler).

I seriously doubt that Ferrari designers and aero engineers decided to “just throwing a hole” in the side of the car. They did what was optimal for aero and cooling for the car.
As the Pininfarina is an EV and the 488/F8 is a ICE car, this means that there are two types of propulsion platforms that dictate two types of aero and cooling needs. So, what Pininfarina did would probably not be optimal or needed for the 488/F8’s turbo engine, and vice versa.
