I am wanting to install some Carbonio carbon fiber paddles on my 06 430 but
I am having trouble removing the steering wheel shroud.
I have located three screws and have removed them but I can't get the back of the
shroud to separate. I don't want to exert more force to avoid cracking the plastic.
Anybody have the secret to his procedure? Thanks

Can only speak for the 360 but there you have to remove 5 screws in total. You have to adjust your Steering column in all directrions to get access to the last 2 screws. But remove all screws is the easier part ...... removing the 2 shelfs without breaking something is the harder one.

I swap against a carbon version 2 years ago because my was a very "sticky" one.

Here is a photo of the F430 part.... looks similar.... 5 screws in total.

You are spot on. 5 screws is correct. The instructions from Carbonio said to remove the "two" screws so it seemed a little weird when I found a
third and then overlooked the remaining two. Got them all off. Thank you for the info.

Some of this stuff seems scary to me, also. I plan on taking my instrument binnacle out and cleaning the weird fungus junk behind the glass while I am
dealing with the new paddles. So I am approaching all of this with caution. The thought of this work is creating enough anxiety that I just need to get to it
and get this all behind me. Fingers crossed.
