Exactly. For the team the points are the same but very different for the individual....

I've just subscribed to F1 channel on Sky after saying I wouldn't. Fortunately I can cancel it at a month's notice. I'll give it a three of four races to see if maybe (hopefully) Ferrari get better, Alfa Romeo do something more or even RB. I'm not watching another Mercedes F1 season.

If Toto says we're OK, then we're ****ed for sure. That guy hasn't told a truth in his life.

Do yyou have these for qualifying? Specifically the top speed one. This might be a bit skewed because of DRS reasons.

Next races to be more telling on Ferrari. If they still struggle with setup it might have been a very bad move removing Kimi from the team, as they rarely had any setup issues when he was there....

Ask and ye shall receive! Many thanks.

So Red Bull right there with Mercedes-Ferrari speed wise...they are running less aero. So they're getting closer power wise. Next engine update and parts should be telling where they really are.

Repaint the car proper gloss red for start...that's an instant couple tenths.
At certain angles/sun conditions, it looks OK...but at others it really does read as a pale, burnt orange - ultimately having the effect of subconsciously demoralizing the drivers (tricking then into believe they are driving something other than a Ferrari.)

Yes, its almost like the Japanese technical/industrial giants aren't in the giving up and rolling over game. Almost like it's their culture to show perseverance.

If you watch the side-by-side of Ham and Seb in quali this is very evident.

Okay Bas, I'm gonna call it using your analysis PLUS add to it.

    1. So I posted a "streamable" vid of the green light coming on on the upper left hand wheel of Seb's car earlier in this thread. It's probably a "safe engine mode" to lift and coast. Add to that the top speed which is 15km/h less than RedBull; so save the engine.

    2. Due to the lack of power, Ferrari ran or adjusted for less aero which had less downforce thereby losing grip....especially in the turns. Seb was'nt "attacking" the turns due to the "safe engine mode" of lifting and coasting then lack of downforce to compensate for less "engine power."

Max passing Seb...yes it was a "legitmate" pass BUT:

    1. Given all of the above

    2. Plus Max was on DRS mode

Conclusion: Max passed an "upset" SF90 while using DRS.

But it seems easier to blame Seb for everything... be it the start or the overtaking.
So people over here say Ferrari backed Seb by giving Charles the slower tires to keep Seb in front... How about the other way round?
Seb was given the wrong strategy in order to try an unsuccessful undercut on Lewis and get him out on tires that obviously did not really work on the Ferrari and that he got way to early (Lewis complained about the same thing when Mercedes covered the undercut of Seb).
So 14 laps later Ferrari had enough data to see whether the Medium tires are the ones to use or not and obviously came to the conclusion that the harder ones would suit Charles better and so he got them.
As we have seen that Seb was much faster in the opening stint my suggestion is that Charles catched up due to having the better strategy than Vettel instead of Vettel staying in front because they gave Charles the wrong one as some here suggest!

Yes Max had DRS, but I can recall only one pass being made on the same piece of track for the rest of the race...Vettel had a poor exit.

All things being equal Ferrari/Red Bull have a similar top speed (hence me asking for qualifying chart). Vettel categorically denied having any engine trouble...

I genuinely don't know if Vettel was driving a wounded car or not. Certainly not in the opening stages when he was sticking with Hamilton and miles faster than Leclerc.

Agree, seems to me Leclerc did have a better strategy based on lap times alone. After the hard was warmed up properly it seemed to be able to match the 10 lap older mediums easily. I don't know if Ferrari have an issue with the medium tyre this track, or with the car....or if it's all to do with the balance issue Ferrari was complaining about.

Maybe Ferrari should do a Toto and explain the world how undrivable the Ferrari of Seb was after the huge crash in the opening lap and that Seb actually did a superhuman effort to bring this car home the way he did ;) It worked quit well at Mercedes in the past...

I've got another streamable where Seb asks for "engine status" on team radio.............................................he gets no response. I'll post later as I am with a lady friend at Jasons Deli.
