Dealerships decide on the deposit. I think it's more a "show serious interest" thing than financial concerns. I also think your history with them matters. If you're a "regular" with a proven history of following through with your orders, the deposit (if they take one) could be lower with some dealers, while others take the same deposit from everyone. Based on posts on this subject, it appears deposits range from $5k to $20K, with $10K being the average.

I didn't get that impression after reading the paperwork I was signing. It was only refundable in the event they were unable to supply the car. You will find it is a binding contract, always at the dealers discretion. It was made very clear that all expressions of interests had to be dealt with that way as a means to knock out those who weren't committed to follow through - which is fair enough really.

I never received any paper work other than a receipt for the 10 K deposit ?

BTW I did order a 360 years ago but after several months I did cancel and did get the deposit back but things might have changed.

I am 100% sure that you don't get your money back after the 10% deposit.

If they didn't give you a contract after putting the deposit down then I would question the validity of the deal as there would be no obligation to supply. Maybe they have a system where they hold money as a form of fallback position for those with contracts who don't follow through and lose their deposits. Up here no such thing exists. You put down your deposit and that's the end of it - no refund.

Maybe different rules apply depending upon geo?

Either way it always pays to read whatever you sign with these deposits and UOI's as sometimes what gets verbally said in the early stages can disappear along the passage of time.

The paperwork (contract) should provide the answer. It also makes no difference what you are told by the salesperson, the written document controls (assuming you signed it). I'm only referring to general US law, have no idea outside US. Within the US, it's also possible there could be slight differences between states because of common law within those jurisdictions. That said, I submitted my deposit and signed a general order form, with the understanding that the official order wouldn't be placed until the F8 is actually spec'd by me (and Ferrari is not taking orders yet according to my dealer). I've always been told that the deposit is fully refundable up to the date my official order is submitted, and changes are permitted up to some date prior to build (as usual), but a cancellation results in loss of deposit.

Zagames there ? I don't think its classified as a deposit more of a get me in line. The 10% down is the deposit which you wont get a refund.

Local dealer here in the SF Bay Area does not yet have the F8 on their configurator.

This view illustrates the need for a different rear bumper design to accommodate the taller North American size license plates.

As I mentioned I played around with the virtual configurations they put on the screen; I am heavy on the exterior carbon but just want the steering wheel with CF& LEDs. See my configuration dream sheet:

According the dealer base will be more than the 270 thousand (they mentioned around 282)....they can’t commit to pricing as that can change but circa 380 thousand speced like mine. As far as the twenty thous deposit, you can get that back any time before they order.

Do you have a picture of the front sensors ? Do they look like pimples as with the PISTA ? also the upper bonnet insert is the black matt standard ?
