    from the manufacturers point of view for cars in 250k to 400k range
    Everyone here would agree carbon is superior we're not naive

    Sorry to disappoint you but after seeing fiorano spy shots the car will have one for sure !
    Just hope they won't only make a targa version ..

    Maybe you forgot the Ferrari Boxer. I believe the wing sweeps air over the engine bay providing a cooling effect.

    Well, it's a race car and I'm sure that makes sense aero-wise. There are other less extreme solutions to adopt on a road car though.

    I kinda do, considering that the man himself said it will have a different shape (I guess compared to every mid-engined F car we've seen so far).

    The method Ferrari are using for their hypercars is vastly more expensive and complicated to the method that other manufacturers use for their mainstream supercars. Apples and oranges really.

    Problem is some of the Ferraris are not delivering on this experience. 488, Portofino. Worry the f8 is same.
    Hopefully BB makes some good noise and handles well.

    Hi dustman, I have not driven/owned enough late model Ferrari and other exotics to make a qualified opinion myself. What are the reasons the latest models are not delivering the experience? I don't mean this facetiously either, I was wowed driving the latest Tipo 140s, but admit compared to others here - have only tasted a few dishes on the menu.

    The article you posted is from 2011. A lot might have changed since.

    With the launch of the F12 former CEO Felisa said that carbon fibre won’t be where they need it until 2020. That was back in early 2012. Bottleneck has been the resin technology.

    Agree with you that aluminum is a superior business decision over CF for Ferrari for re-use of existing platforms and that road models won't see a benefit versus cost. A cost benefit on a hyper exists but not on production or even justified on the Icona cars as we have seen. They have a whole new modular system coming out for their production cars that will run for many more years and it is also aluminum based but can add a bit of CF as they go. The aluminum versus CF discussion here has no influence on Ferraris production decisions. Those demanding CF should buy a hyper if they want a cavallino on it. Otherwise the multitude of aluminum alloys in their production chassis designs are quite appropriate and will be for quite some time.
