The modular system objective is to make more Ferrari’s in a cheaper and quicker way. Not necessarily to make them better, stiffer or lighter. The word is money! More cars, more expensive and more money to the investors.
Everyone has their own opinion. Portofino, 812 and 488 all deliver what I was looking for. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Seems cost effective for Macca. In retrospect they were smart to launch with the CF tub and make it modular for a variety of models. Alfa was able to do it with the 4C so the tech is there for FCA.
yes, this thread is getting really boring with these carbon vs aluminium talks. Here some have seen the car or know details but they're not spilling the beans.
No doubt Mclaren are ahead of the curve from a carbon manufacturing platform cost basis, especially with the new factory in Sheffield, all a Mclaren needs is a Ferrari engine https://www.evo.co.uk/mclaren/20645/mclaren-opens-new-composites-factory-in-sheffield
The BB design is finished; nothing has changed since ferr9000's comment in March. J50, Sergio and the Pininfarina Battista. Mix them all together and you could have at least a very general idea about the Big Brother. Post by: ferr9000 + Hint the design will be more complex than the minimal Monza SP 1 & 2 cars.
You mean more extreme and less pure? The F8 Tributo is more for fun. If I understand the purpose of this car is performance, right?

I'd love to see more hints, maybe about power (< or > 1000), drivetrain (what kind of hybrid system/layout), tail lights (two? four? P80-style?). Just to keep the thread on topic and the discussion going on until we get to the private preview in May. Hopefully all the technical details will be known by then. On a side note, clueless "journalists" are still spreading misinformation: https://www.autoevolution.com/news/ferrari-dino-revival-spied-testing-v6-engine-prototype-wears-heavy-camouflage-133527.html (From 2 days ago).
The new Ferrari designs are all slaves to the 'aero numbers'. Mr Manzoni stated when he started working at Ferrari that the aero numbers were a critical factor in the design requirements there. He said 'this made his job much more challenging than his work before that time' elsewhere. Yes that would sum up BB - more extreme and less pure compared with the Monza SP1 being the modern embodiment of monoposto pure! BB is an evolution of the current Ferrari cars>

and this beauty from a designer who in his spare time draws 'spaceships'. Not the BB but the intergalactic kind!
I predict it will be similar to the F80/C and confirm the design language for future models. Image Unavailable, Please Login
