That was published today, and the interview was last month. They mention the car to be revealed in May, so not the BB, something else.
I found what @4_Eff_Sake said on November 17, 2018. "And then there’s the Testarossa tribute car. Twin turbo V12 hybrid. 0-100kmh in 1.9 secs. Positioned between 812 and LaFerrari. That sounds like fun" "Oh, I forgot to mention, it’s going to be 1100hp"
Ferrari had already announced last month in Geneva that V12 only need big displacement . So no hybridization or turbocharging for V12 . Maybe a 7.0 liters V12 ?
I remember someone at Ferrari who said a turbo V12 would be madness, but they also said they'd never make an SUV. I would much rather it be a BIG naturally aspirated V12. Imagine the sound.
That mark is very accurate but it has to be more pronunced starting at the door panel. The new tachomoter and display in general looks very clean. It reminds me to the Lexus LFA display but with the Ferrari touch. On the left you have the Hybrid Icon with the radio display and on your left you can find the manettino selected position and various light signals as well. ( check engine, oil, hand brake, open doors, etc.)
Don't think so , At Geneva , Ferrari technical director was affirmative on this special engine development ( V12 future ) It surprised me a lot especially when he said hybridization is a nonsense for big atmospheric V12 . Clearly not an option according to him !
this website is indian or atleast run by some indian guys. They just collect infos from various social platforms. Few months ago when the testmule of bb first appeared on instagram, it was i who mailed them (along with carscoops.com) the photos with a screenshot of fero9000's comment. So i have less faith in their articles. This v12 story could be just another rumor..
Remember Felisa, years ago before the Cali T or 488 said that a V12 Ferrari would receive not turbocharging (as to properly Turbo a 12 requires 4 turbos which is too heavy) but battery hybrid. (Hence the LaFerrari) Recently Ferrari have changed their tune in Geneva. With the new announcement of FCA partnering with Tesla to meet some emissions regs, as Ferrari are related to FCA I’m wondering if this paired with Ferrari continuing diverse engine lineup is what’s allowed them to change their tune now saying V12 will not receive any battery hybrid.
LaFerrari's successor will come after 2023 and it will be a modern "spaceship" (just like every Ferrari hypercar), not a re-imagined old design. A modern day Testarossa would have to be an Icona.
By the way, I think a car like that might be on the cards, but It should be in the Icona range and should have extraordinary performance: on par or, maybe, above the Big Brother, which will be already faster than the LaF. Speaking of hybrid V12s, Leiters basically said that they make sense only if you're aiming for performance. “If you want to maximise the benefits of an electrified powertrain, you need to do it with downsizing otherwise it doesn’t make sense. A naturally aspirated V12 engine is not a downsized engine, and for me it doesn’t make sense as a hybrid. We will fight for the V12, of course. We will do everything we can to keep it as it is core to our brand. But a real hybridisation of the V12? I don’t see it. The LaFerrari was hybridisation for performance. In the future, we’re being forced to look at emissions and if you want to really utilise the CO2 benefit, you have to downsize.” [Top Gear]
Yes you are right , subtle difference . So the testarossa Icona could be a V12 NA with soft hybridization . ( ala Laferrari)
