At some point did the name change from "SPORT CARS" to "SPORTS CARS" or were these two different entities?

    Hi Jack,

I may be wrong but as far as I know there was only Hollywood Sport Cars.

I don't think there was ever a "Hollywood Sports Cars". I think it sometimes gets written that way incorrectly because at least in the US that's how we usually say it - "sports cars".

    All best!

I beleive, there was another store that belonged to this organization in Newport Beach Ca called Newport Sport Cars? I was selling Alfas at Beach Imports about a half mile south on PCH in 1973 saw / heard a mechanic doing a PDI with a Sliver Daytona comong down PCH at what sounded like 1 st gear, with the exhaust note echoing between the buildings ( never have forgotten that)i went in to apply for a job selling Ferraris...funny thing was they had a new 365 GTC/4 on the showroom but everything else was sold before it came in..i probably would have starved as the job was commission based...but at 24 i thought it would cool..grabbed a broshure with Daytona/dino/GTC with a 512 on the back and it was stamped " Hollywood Sport Cars" tapped it on the wall in my bedroom( still have it) eventually did buy a Daytona in 1999( still have it too) interesting how we are impressed,Chuck Coli

Was there Ferrari Dealership at 9111 Wilshire Blvd in 1980 , corner of Wilshire and Oakhurst. There is a scene in American Gigolo that Richard Gere (Julian Kaye) is on a payphone and there is a Ferrari dealership in the background. It shows the street sign in the background.

What was the story on Gene Curtis? I remember something about him going back to the Scarab cars, or something like that.

You were there when a group of us in car design would regularly come to the Gower garage during lunch from Art Center when it was still on 3rd St.

I got stiffed for $5,000 also; deposit on new 348. Maybe just as well, as the new car turned out to be somewhat unloved.

While I was there I remember Gene getting visitors yes but, I never found out what it was about, he was always way too calm !!,... he used to talk a lot with a mechanic/close friend he brought in to work there, I can't recall his name, he had been a motorcycle motor cross champion,... wow! it feels like just yesterday !
