It seems that the "modern Testarossa" analogy that someone made some time ago was accurate: fast but not racy. The electric mode will make of it a good super GT.

30 May is the private preview, so definitely nothing (including any press release) before that, so I am lead to believe.

No pilot has ever mentioned a number AFAIK. They all just want the lightest, most powerful possible.

Weight figures are usually dictated by regulations and then BOP'd (where possible and if necessary). Pilots drive what they're given.

After 1200kg it’s no longer race car level but that’s ok, all these cars we like so much are road cars.

The Maserati MC12, one of the most dominant race cars of its era, weighed more than 1250 kilos; so does the 488 GT3. Not to mention the NASCAR racers, which are more than 1500 kilos. Just saying...

Wow 50kg!! Compared to a “porker” 1500 kg Pista it’s just 250 kg more, just ahah.
I know you like to joke but calling nascar racing, racing... come on. It’s from hillbillies to hillbillies.

Who needs so much HP on open roads ??
It s ll more fun to drive a Challenge Stradale than an heavy car.
Electric system with cables and battery is heavy...Don t forget it s not a KERS system like the LF
If you like mecanics, sound and pure F- cars , such a car is a nosense

Maybe this is why Pista is so good for us who like purity. Having spent quite some time in the 918 I assume BB will be similar and I was happy to get back into a normal F-car

Ferrari s marketing department is actually "the most" important department...They must use strategy for selling car with no sound and not NA...
Objectvly, The Ferrari we like belong to the past...Today it s an another vision deconnected on the basic idea of the car s passion : sound , drivebility, light weight...
It s area of ego and standing car wich the most impiortant is having most HP than your neighbour

Thanks for sharing. Wonder if the preview is split on different dates, since Mr. Massini said May 30th or if there's another reason.

    Change is the only constant.
Ferrari, like any other brand, moves forward even if some people are stuck in the past.

They are indeed "redneck racers", but I guess they are quicker around Monza or Spa than a 900 kilos Exige race car...

There is nothing objective there. A friend of mine, the lead test driver of a known magazine, called me the other day, waxing lyrical about the Pista. "Is it better than the Speciale, mate?", I asked. "Forget the Speciale, this thing is something else; the F40 - we ran the other day - is way less thrilling!!!", he retorted. I will have to take his word, since I don't really like the 40 myself...

I ve made 400 kms on the Pista recently...Most exiting than an F 40 ?? I think it sould be a joke, how can he compare a pure feedback of a lighter car vs an artificial feedback ???
I precise i love the Pista exept the BS noise ( not sound )
Pista is the last generation before hybrids revolution . i like the progress and goods evolutions, but in this case, for enthusiasts, hybrids are in term of driving pleasure and sounding a regression !
