Probably his team knows his limitations and told him to drive accordingly (keep it off the wall !).
I don't thing he did badly with a 9th place in view of the circumstances, and it's better than Ricciardo and Kvyat can say! LOL
Stroll isn't Verstappen, so you can't expect the same sort of racing, can you?
Without counting the Williams, 5 other good/average drivers finished behind Stroll.

“The circumstances”. What his team mate drive rings around him all weekend? Whilst Perez was battling Red Bull, our master tool was battling the mighty Torro Rossos.

(True about smiler bad day for him!)

Sorry, but if daddy wasn’t there would the tool still be there?

He acted like a petulant 4 year old all last year rather than getting stuck in and trying to make the best of a bad lot. Inexcusable. He is nothing but pathetic.

He is not a very good driver, that's for sure.
But it's his money, not mine, so I am not mad about him.

Of course, Baku is clearly his favorite circuit. After all, he once made the podium there!

Even the worst F1 driver - and Stroll is not necessarily it - is by necessity still one of the best racing drivers in the world. So give the kid credit for not being a total embarrassment.

The fact the his daddy pays for him doesn’t bother me at all The world and F1 has always been such.

What bothers me is his pathetic spoilt brat attitude he had at Williams. Completely unprofessional, and not even becoming of a 4 year old. If he had acted his age, manned up and tried to help Williams rather than dish them at every turn I might respect him.

Because of that and that there are far better drivers in the bench cause he is hogging a seat he has no moral right to; the sooner he leaves the better.

Why should we give him credit when he's holding a seat a BETTER DRIVER should be filling?

    That's a bit irrelevant now.
His father didn't buy him a seat.
This time, he bought him a team !!!
We all know Lance isn't there on merit, but nothing can be done about it

A credible argument for this point can be made of more than half the drivers in the field. Heck even here Vettel is being lynched at every opportunity.

According to the FIA Superlicence regulations Lance is there on merit (ironically something that Max would not qualify for under the current regulations)

Oh please... comparing Stroll to Vettel?

Stroll couldn't keep up with that unknown Russian last year and this year Perez is cleaning his clock. Isn't that enough?

We know, but there is nothing in the rules to ban him from F1, and forcing his father to give the seat to someone else, is there?

I agree with this. There are a few "rent-a-racers" in F1, guys who are there only because they could bring money to the table. But they all have superlicenses, and they all have at least some talent.

At least this year, he cannot be blamed for Williams' lack of pace. I hope they find enough to at least earn a point somewhere along the way.

You know that talent alone doesn't get you a seat in F1.
People forget the sponsors who often have a say in who goes where.

+1 Sad but true. Lance is a convenient target for the disheartened tifosi--myself included.

Fast forward to 2021 with the much vaunted 'level playing field' ,Racing Point might just be in a position to run with the best. Stroll and his partners are no fools,Lance will be in his 5th year by then aged just 22.

Love him or hate him he isn't going to quit for many years.

I'd like to see Lance test drive a Merc. Then we'll know if it is the car that is so good.
