The European market is not the same as the US market. Pistas have been out longer in Europe but not as long here in the states. You cannot compare the markets.

7 of the cars listed on the site above simply had stock photos so not sure how real those cars are.

There are zero Pistas for sale on autotrader or cars.com

that is a good amount of pistas for sale, the catch is they are in Europe, or out of the usa market. It took me almost 1 year to bring my 6x6 here to usa. The process cost of 100,000, then import tax and registration, and a 20,000 ticket for the truck to come here.

Exactly, you do have to have sufficient history though and neither of us are new to the brand or dealer.

I do not have a huge relationship with Ferrari for 10+ years. I had to pay to even get access to the car. I hear this story a lot, lusso buying nonsense. I just offered money and the door opened. Now maybe the number is the same I will lose if I buy a lusso or portofino. who knows. but it worked and I'm happy. I just need nice weather to drive now.....

Congrats OP but we seem to be missing pics!!!

PS. I read a post of dustman's where he claims to have owned a 458 and 488 so he met Ferrari's key criteria which is the ONLY reason he achieved allocation and, after all others who satisfied the dealers requests to buy lusso's!

Like what has happened elsewhere, a few Pista orders have fallen over as a consequence of F8 being dropped out along with others who qualified no longer prepared - or able - to foot the changeover dollars to get into Pista. So dustman now has an opportunity at Pista - nothing new going on here really.

There are plenty who said no who didn't meet any part of the Pista criteria and are ALL still without, so luck has played a big part for him in being given a second chance.

Not surprised as you didn't meet the min criteria, although I'm sure you'll be able to buy one from a dealer off the floor. There's always speculators who need their money back before the leasing costs eat into their capital and these guys usually use the dealers. I'm told on good advice it happens hence why you guys are seeing a few pop up over MSRP lately.

pay them off, take them out to nice places, i.e. Vegas and send woman to compromise there situation, there is a lot of ways other than buying a lusso to get a pista. if you want it you get it.

I recall in the early stages when Ferrari's own criteria was being circulated and it was even on that (488).

Not in the US, minimum was a Lusso. Some others have recently received allocations without any minimum. I bought 4 cars from this dealer in 5 years.... Their management sucks really.

Not sure what's so bad about paying over MSRP anyway. I imagine only very few (if any) got out of their 488's (or lussos) intact.....so just add the loss to the Pista and voila there's your over MSRP right there. Paying 100 over is a bargain in a lot of cases. Certainly will be in mine.

I dont know if its an actual requirement or just left up to the dealers but I own a 488 but I think these requirements are all over the place- buy a lasso, own a 488, buy a portifino- who the hell knows whats true.

I was told here that in the US dealers were applying the lusso as a favorite over 488 as they had no trouble selling 488's at that stage and like every other dealer were only getting allocated so many Pista's. Lussos were always a problem shift. So its pretty easy to figure out what went down your way. The 488 guys getting offered Pistas at this late stage in the game is easy to work out.
    Add F8 into the pot.

Who knows, maybe I get a call. They have one for sale now, I am curious to see what they are asking. I also find it interesting that they dont list it on their site which makes you wonder how many are really out there for sale.

I can imagine there will be a few re appear at dealers or not collected - left for sale - also Pista's not built yet being re allocated due to drop offs. F8 threw a major spanner in a lot peoples works. Certainly has made it hard to shift a 488 and that has had quite an effect on the changeover $. I'm sure there are 488 buyers over here who originally didn't get allocation now being offered as a consequence of certain 488 owners who had allocation walking away due to the changeover. Just imagine if your Pista was not in build and your 488 was not selling for the money you were expecting to get for it.
