Someone told me yesterday that he had it from a “very reliable source” that anyone being allocated an 812 Spider was already notified and they had to give a deposit by now; in USA market.
    Can anyone refute or corroborate?
    Thanks!
    (Obviously....I wasn’t notified :))

I've been following this 812 Spider topic from the git go; my own 812 is due to land at my dealer in the next few weeks.
My view of the best/most credible info is:

    - My dealer confirmed to me 812 Spider model is expected to be a Fall announcement.
    - My dealer stated in that conversation regular US deliveries will start approx a year later
    - We can infer, as normal, the factory will be actively involved allocation

The above I believe, but anything can happen. Beyond that the rest is speculation, including (unconfirmed from my standpoint):

    - One fchat report of a deposit being accepted already
    - 812 Spider is expected to be "regular" production volumes
    - 812 Spider is limited or very limited production
    - Production is over before it's started
    - Pricing speculation is all over the map from $50K premium over coupe to 2 - 3x (or more) of coupe cost
    - You have to own an 812 to be on short list short
    - Short list already notified, if not you're SOL.

Some fchat users are the source of some of these rumors and information, and due to historical accuracy may have credibility/standing beyond "someone" and “very reliable sources” who don't hold a lot of weight to me.

Everyone gets to believe what they want to believe. I appreciate everyone wants their shot at this car. I personally don't believe spreading unattributed rumors, guesses, wishes and innuendo help anyone, in fact, it just raises unease and FOMO.

I don’t think anyone has an allocation in the USA. Anyone have a confirmed allocation yet?

Klinkman: Your 3 bullet points above “the above I believe,...” deserve a thumbs up emoji!!!

429 views and 4 responses in V12 section...I'm guessing that means they haven't locked down allocations yet because one of you would have said by now that you have "heard" about a "friend" putting down a deposit.

I haven't heard about any allocations as of yet. The only thing Ive heard is that you have to own the coupe to be given an allocation for the spider. That might be a dealer requirement but we will see.

I understand it to be limited production but not a limited series. I presume the factory will determine who gets offered one, much like Pista ie also limited production but not limited series. Anyone have a guess what numbers limited production means?

My 'guess' would be one third of the coupe total for build numbers.

I've heard nothing despite asking. Then again I don't own an 812 SF
