I just don't think it's a great idea to have people grossly deceiving others on here. He made one of the most far fetched claims I've ever seen on a high-end car forum.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was actually just a business and he was buying/selling cars, never actually "owning" them as is being claimed. I mean, like everyone of his cars seems like it's listed on BJMotors.com. That's why I'd really like to see that 688 HS, Enzo, etc. Those aren't easy to come by.

LOL! This is a case of pot calling kettle black if I've ever heard it!

I think it's time to put it to bed and get back to the topic - if that's possible! The guy has made his claim and seems to have cars to back it up so move on. I mean who cares anyway?

Mate will you wake up tomorrow after a great nights sleep ? Well I hope so. Don't get too ruffed up by him. Life goes on. I have been in car audio competitions and lesson learnt don't ever be surprised. There is always someone better , stronger , faster , wealthier than you.
Noone is asking you to help prove / disprove who / what he is. Let it go life is too short

What’s noone1 story? Noone1, are you a mega car collector too?

As it happens I got invited last weekend to tour John Mozart’s personal car collection. Knocked my socks off.
I think the biggest effect on the Pista premium will be future regulatory issues facing Ferrari. Europe is already thinking about mandating top speed limiters and even more stringent CO2 limits (they don't plan to exempt SMV). This may cause performance drains similar to what we witnessed in the late 70s and early 80s. Look no further than the Mondial 8 for the forced stifling regulations have caused in the past.

I agree you can go overboard with "last offs" (last off color white, non-abs, sunroof version of 360...)

But I do believe certain last offs are significant.

    Last Manual V8/V12 (Cali&F430/599)
    Last NA (458/812/GTC4-V12)

I believe the Pista's fortunes are directly tied to what Ferrari has next...

None of us truly care what another’s net worth and lifestyle is; however, none here like being “grandstanded to.”
My only comment about such claims are if you sold your biz for huge gains, then congrats, well done! At 20 I was trying to figure out how to get thru college, meet bills, and get laid.
If you have a JPM team (nice weird flex with the palladium card and debit card btw) they are likely conservative in their financial recommendations, they need to be that is their role. Likely they will have you invested in a wide diversified array of private equities, hedge, liquid alternative assets, structured products with both long and short positions (all of which don’t yield immediate income but do generate taxes...ask me how I know ;)).
But let’s say you have $30M with them, and they advise a nice burn rate of 5% net (fees, taxes, inflation hedge) per year (given that you are young and can take risks); that’s a very nice $1.5M of living money per year. Now, presumably you have a house or two, lots of big insurance bills, and like to eat and travel, but live “frugally” on $500K per year doing so, then you have $1M per year for a Ferrari addiction. A truly nice place to be, but not 24-48 cars per year unless I am missing something.
Congrats on your success, but don’t feel the need to either impress or justify yourself to any here.

This thread reminds me of the one involving Yang Yang. Idle gossip with little interest for those who couldn't care less about scrutinizing someone's financial worth. Its all about cars, ladies.

I think most of us couldn't really care less about income, but we do appreciate great collections. It reminds me of an experience I had (another member did as well, and we both reacted the same way), where a guy came up to me in a parking lot and sarcastically said "I bet you're really proud to own that car" referring to one of my Ferrari's at the time. I politely explained that comment moves the focus to me, and it's never about the driver, it's always about the car, you either appreciate it or you don't. You don't even know the driver, why would you care, the truth is you don't.

It's no different in these forums, we don't really know each other in most cases. People can post what they want, truthful or not, exaggerated or not, we'll never really know unless we investigate further, but why do that? The answer to that question requires us to examine ourselves, if we are happy in life, confident in who we are, then we're never comparing ourselves to others. I guess I'd be considered one of the top 1/10th of 1% of the wealthy in this country, does that matter to anyone here? Of course not, nor should it, that's not the real value in life anyway, it's family and friends, it's people not "things." I still live normally, place a limit on my cars, focus on my wife and kids, and struggle everyday to teach my very young children that they are not special. I do not have time to consider or judge others, but I do respect great collections, not necessarily the "collectors," that has to be earned.

So, let's respect that gentleman's posts, believe what you chose to believe, and move back to subject of this thread....just my 2 cents.

I'd cut him more slack if he wasn't making buy/sell ads on the forum. If you're trying to sell stuff to people, I think it's fair for your character to be drawn into question when you make far-fetched claims.

He's 20 claiming he buys 30-40 cars a year, yet even the cars he says he owns are listed for sale/listed as sold on dealer sites. So yeah, call me skeptical when he buys a matching SA and TDF out of Utah, say's their for his long-term collection, and then they are listed as "SOLD" on BJMotors website, along with other cars he's sold/tried to sell.

for what it's worth do you remember what you were like when you were 20? I had some early wealth (nowhere near this posters level) and I cringe to think how I handled it, but when you're young you act young.

but on the flip side of that, 40 cars a year is a truly staggering number and is largely unheard of for one individual and when I have personally know someone to do it, it's been someone who has suddenly come into money and has decided to build a collection, spread out over many brands and models from different time periods.

I'd suggest running a nice big boat if money is burning a hole in your pocket!

Back to the subject of Pista allocations, do we know if any are still available anywhere, even with a Lusso, or whatever, purchase? My dealer indicates no remaining allocations, and they are not a small dealership, so curious if there are any remaining in the U.S..

Thanks, I'm just curious if any remain, and from what I'm hearing the final allocations for U.S. have already been spoken for and no more will be made available.

noone1 does bring up interesting points here. Something is not adding up, as it would appear others have brought up inconsistencies as well. dansage said the car is now on consignment in FLI, yet my buddy Joe told me it's still there in Texas as of today.

I wanted to give dansage the benefit of the doubt, and I think I've extended him that courtesy for a while, but there is no denying that people that regularly buy 24 Ferrari a year and are at the LaF level don't spend time on a message board trying to unload a Portofino.

I won't lie, my BS meter is starting to tick...
