The same rules apply to all purchases. Check the previous posts on the forum:

    e.g. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/purchasing-a-f355-your-thoughts.599069/

    e.g. request an independent PPI

    +1

There's also some muck on thedriver's door sill. It might be an indication of the way the previous owner treated the car. However, cars driven often may be a sign that they run well. Or was the car just parked outside for a week at the dealer?

Hard to say for sure from the photo, but the leather looks good on the dash and seats. I wonder if it has been redone?
The fuel rail modification has been done, so there is less likelihood of the car going up in flames :p

With GTB's, check for "buttress cracks".

It looks great !! My only disagreement is the F1... It is ancient by today's standards... Why don't you look for a manual 355 ?

New carpet btw. A well driven car that passes leakdown means its probably sorted. High mileage would not bother me unless your looking for an investment. If you plan on driving it it may be amazing if the price is right. Run some VIN searches out here.

Definitely check history, PPI and leak-down. If you had to pick 1 and only 1 pick leak-down. If it checks and price is right weeee!

No I don't think so at all. Your reading into the term investment. Let me explain. Some do think its an investment or at a minimum with to shield against depreciation. This is why there are so many with so few miles fake or otherwise. If you buy one and do not want it to depreciate polish and don't drive it. Its as simple as that. Then hope they raise in value. It's how it works. Do I think that will happen, umm no.... Put 75K miles on it and you'll get a WHOLE different resale experience. Hence almost no cars with 50, 75, 100K miles. If you do want to buy one and hope to not loose money start with a clean low mile example. Remember that $110K 355? If it had 75K miles it would not have sold for $110K.
