You should stop trying to be clever. It doesn't suit you.

not a good idea for an older engine and not necessary anyway. Before an oil change, give the car a 15 minute run so that the oil is hot and circulated, then drain, swap the filter and refill. Make sure you have a fresh copper washer for both the oil tank drain plug and the engine drain plug. Check the sizes well before you start the job, order from RS Components https://au.rs-online.com

I know I’ve read on Aldous voice the torque settings in the Ferrari service manual for bothe plugs are wrong!, Aldous recommend finger tight then quarter turn but I’ll take any suggestions for accurate torque setting, waiting for Pierre to get back to me [emoji849]

Leave it loose.... Won't make any difference with it just sitting in your driveway

15ft/lb should be OK, as long as you have an accurate torque wrench.

btw, most of the earlier Ferrari's I've owned had the sump plug thread stripped at some point in the past. It can be repaired with a helicoil without dropping the sump, but it's a delicate job.

It would be 10 years ago, but I reckon was $ 250

Of course, I could be completely incorrect. For once. [emoji41]
