not a good idea for an older engine and not necessary anyway. Before an oil change, give the car a 15 minute run so that the oil is hot and circulated, then drain, swap the filter and refill. Make sure you have a fresh copper washer for both the oil tank drain plug and the engine drain plug. Check the sizes well before you start the job, order from RS Components https://au.rs-online.com
Thanks Ian good stuff I’ve ditched the flush and have everything else,Ferrari sent crush washers both same size I will double check and oil as per service books 5/w40 [emoji106] it’s all happening this afternoon, wish me luck [emoji51] Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I bought one of those from Total Tools in QLD for $129, they are brilliant and help get the 355 on and off the hoist I use to have

I know I’ve read on Aldous voice the torque settings in the Ferrari service manual for bothe plugs are wrong!, Aldous recommend finger tight then quarter turn but I’ll take any suggestions for accurate torque setting, waiting for Pierre to get back to me [emoji849] Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
btw, most of the earlier Ferrari's I've owned had the sump plug thread stripped at some point in the past. It can be repaired with a helicoil without dropping the sump, but it's a delicate job.
There are better options than helicoils http://www.crosstools.com.au/thread-repair---which-type-is-best-for-you.html
I really hope that’s not an option but we’ll find out tomorrow because the torque wrench made available to us this afternoon was not that great, so tomorrow I’ll find a good one [emoji849]to be continued.. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app

FWIW Adrian, I have the exact same low jack as the red one on the left hand side of that picture. It's great.
[emoji106]can you remember how much you paid for it Wes? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app( less than $250;$
It would be 10 years ago, but I reckon was $ 250 Of course, I could be completely incorrect. For once. [emoji41]
