I found one red TR that I am sure can be purchase for cheap CAR CRUELTY https://silodrome.com/field-of-abandoned-ferraris/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There is a really good interior dye guy here in the FTL area that will make the interior look brand new in a few hours. LOL
I paid more than 100k for my car, but it had a relatively recent service ( end of 2016) new tires etc and 11k miles . As far as Fred, good for him for having that problem, doesnt mean that people buying paying top dollar for red cars dont have the same issue
i think you did good on your car very low miles service records and being a white tr bet you can get all your money back and maybe more if you sold today, theres nothing else out there 12 cylinder looks performance for that kind of moneyits undervalued
Mister positive If I were a seller right now I would definitely hang on to my car as it seems that the market won’t give more than 90-100k for most car and if I don’t have to sell I keep it bc in a few years for sure those should be around 150k...that being said not a life changing return on investment I would assume Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Tr are a bargain once you drive a very well sorted and cared for tr it’s a dream to drive worth all the money once you buy one that needs a lot it will be a nightmare buy the best out there
It’s funny about the maintenance. I talked to a 512 tr owner yesterday who hasn’t done a major in 17 years and has been many years since last oil change. The car has 39k miles and he says runs perfect. He’s owned the car since 2001 and just performed minor things. Crazy but does indicate to me that the belts can last as long as there are no oil leaks. I would never do that but I found it interesting.
17 yrs is a stretch for sure ... 10 yrs is not uncommon i and others have gone that long without issues. The leaking is the bigger issue for sure. Too bad these cars got a bad rap with this over maintenance wives tale
Yeah I think it’s a bit over stated. Even my mechanic said honestly you don’t have to do it that often. The car I’m talking about is listed for sale on eBay 1992 512tr black on black for 165k. He lists on the ad the service history. I called him since he was local because I never heard of anyone going that long. The most was 10 years by another tr owner that I’m aware of that uses the same mechanic.
Not to one up your story .... but here in Toronto there is large collector and an original owner of an 89tr that for fun went the distance. He just did his first engine out a year or two ago. Went the full 27 yrs without a service. Jsut changed fluids. Only reason why it went in was the car was leaking massive. And he finally caved. I think the car has 15,000 miles. Ps - he has a bbi that he bought new and ran it the same, went almost 20yrs without the belt service. I have personally gone 9 yrs the last time and if can go to 10 this time I most likely will.
I wanted you to look at it and maybe try and get a good deal. You would have to talk to Juan over in Campbell about the car as he has replaced the clutch. I know in the end you wouldn’t look at it with a poor service history. But I like to look at everything and compare pricing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk[/QUOTE]
It’s not about beating anyone, just trying to share the experiences. My mechanic has an 84 euro in right now and the last engine out was 2007. I saw the bearings and belts, visually all looked more than fine for 12yrs old. This One was leaking a lot as well. Enjoy !
