The car should be able to do that. A mule with a 488 body was filmed at Fiorano and for the first few seconds it doesn't make any sound. Then the V8 starts up.

Yeah, maybe the Challenge series would need some extra safety measures since racing can get a bit rough there, but I'm not an engineer so I can't really tell if they're absolutely necessary or know how they can be implemented.

On a side note, the LaF's HY-KERS was designed for future applications too:

"The hybrid technology used, known as HY-KERS, represents the perfect combination of maximum performance and lower emissions. LaFerrari in fact emits just 330 g/km of CO2 but without resorting to electric-only drive which would not fit the mission of this model. The HY-KERS system is, however, designed so that in future applications a car can be driven using exclusively electric power for a few kilometres and, during development testing, a full-electric version of LaFerrari achieved just 220 g/km of C02emissions on the combined cycle."

Maybe It was deleted on Ferrari's request because their test driver wasn't respecting the speed limits and that shouldn't be publicly shown on YouTube.

I'm the author of the video, I deleted it because it was starting to have too many views for this video and with my bike I was beyond the speed limits allowed ... sorry

The video was very likely removed as an own idea of the biker himself, as the video became "too popular" very soon and he feared the Police would break in pieces his driving license for speeding.

    ciao

0-60 mph in less than 2/2 seconds. remember what Marchionne said “If there is an electric supercar to be built, then Ferrari will be the first,”. so it was not just empty words from him. we have seen promises from tesla s and Rimac c2 but the real deal is still far away (i think). it's a nice surprise from ferrari to its fans and also for its competitors.

Those are huge numbers and will involve a lot of brave thinking. With physical cars some time away, it could see a rush of orders for a car, but the realisation you will not see one for a few years could risk many cancellations. New territory this one. Of course it will be off the scale , an amazing car. But this is a new business model and not one fully understood yet. Well apart from the obvious bottom line .

If I were Ferrari's CEO, considering all the risks and uncharted territory that comes with their new business model, in conjunction with shareholder demands for profit, I would be very very nervous. I'll leave it at that.

Agreed. If the car comes with all the driving qualities that we have come to expect from Ferrari sports cars then we very likely have a winner even at the price speculated above. However, if this is a weighty monster with huge off the line acceleration only, then €500k+ is going to look like a hefty early adopter's premium as others deliver the same performance but cheaper and within the same delivery time frame.

I think those who are rationalising the BB as good value because it delivers LaFerrari beating acceleration at less than half the price may be misguided. Others are / will be delivering the same at sub €150k.

I freeze framed the video when the car passed and appears that the black covering covers the side vents. Picture isn't perfect but it sure looks like the side vents are there under the covering but not exposed. Could that be? Maybe electric only on this test?
