I remember the Hunt/Lauda season. It started when I was a senior in high school and ended when I was a freshman in college. Rush is a great tribute to it. I have the DVD. RIP
RIP Niki. Hunt v Lauda is my first memory of F1. I was hooked from then on. What a champion. Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes. Champion with all of them. Now an immortal legend.

When I looked at Facebook last night at 11Pm, I was literally shocked and gasped that scared my wife. Niki Lauda has been my Hero from childhood, and while I've met his over a dozen times, he was never that friendly like Jackie Stewart or Alain Prost, but he was always respectful. He was a hard man, and nobody's fool. He was a living legend, and the world will forever be different with his passing. There are no more drivers like Lauda... he was truly one of a kind, worthy of being an all time great. I will miss him on this earth. God's speed.
I believe Niki said the film got it about "80% right" which I consider a success for a Hollywood film. His story is amazing and the film helped lure my youngest into the passion of motorsports. If ever one needs inspiration when battling adversity, there is plenty here. RtR !!
Many forget that Lauda loved flying and was deeply and personally involved in finding out the cause of the crash of one of his Lauda Air planes. Lauda fought hard to improve airline safety.
I was looking forward to seeing him back in the Mercedes pits after his illness, but alas that won't happen. He is an icon of the sport and will never be forgotten.
