What the hell are RBR waiting for? They could be #2 in the WCC if they had a capable #2 driver. Well, Gasly is a #2 driver, but I mean a racing #2 driver.
Gasly is at the moment 6th in the WDC, with 3 finishes in the points and 1 fastest lap. I don't think Albon could match that yet.
Albon is doing well for a rookie, but is probably not ready yet to Partner Max. That's the problem these days, some people want to promote Young drivers too early and condemn them to fail. One or 2 years out of the limelight at Toro Rosso is better than a rushed promotion at Red Bull, IMO. Look what happened to Kvyat ...
Had Ricciardo not left, Gasly would never have been switched from STR to RD, I think. The lack of experience compared to Max is obvious.
Ricci left some big shoes to be filled,i think they have to see this year out then consider Albon for 2020.Gasly may yet turn it around.
Gasly has talent, just not luck so far. Didn't they send him out a race or two ago on softs near the end and he got the fastest lap?
Ricci is needed at Ferrari and not Seb. Ricci and Charles.....why not. Its apparent at Red Bull with Ricci gone how good he is. We need Vettel why? Ricci in a Ferrari this weekend at Monaco......a nice thought.
