I do love the idea of having a manual, however I'm quite enticed by the Scud... I should try to arrange a test drive, shame their price is +50% more over my manual 360 :\
This is getting good! Where'd you source the front bumper from? Are you doing side skirts and anything to the back or leaving those as-is? I assume there are some wheels in the future as well... waiting patiently for you to finish the transformation.
This is actually the same setup I had in my previous yellow 360: Fabspeed headers + Capristo Twin Sound exhaust. Needless to say I love the combination enough to do it again. The only difference is this time I may go with 100/200 cell Sports Cats at some point. But the setup will yield a high pitch sound that I think most everyone chases when they want that F1 aura. However I've never ran the car with just Fabspeed headers alone, so I can't say how different just changing that unit out sounds. I suspect it may be somewhat louder, but more importantly I did it as a preventative to that notorious OE manifold issue.
I had the yellow 360 before the Scud. But when the opportunity arose to get the Scud, I had to trade the 360 for it at the time. Don't get me wrong, the Scud is fantastic in its own right, but I craved the experience of shifting so much that I just had to get another manual 360 alongside the Scud. There is absolutely nothing like driving a V8 Ferrari with that gated shifter. And IMO, the way the 355 and 360 sounds, are a different beast to the newer generations of the 430 and 458. There's something more "classical" about the way these earlier cars sound. One more thing to keep in mind is that the manual 360 is difficult to come by now. When I was looking for one, there were only 5~6 coupes listed for sale in the country. Scuds on the other hand are a little more abundant by comparison.
Yup, added CS side skirts as well. All body parts came from Ryan over at Exotic Auto Recycler. They are reproductions but do the job. There are definitely wheels coming in the way of HRE's. I'll leave the model/style as a surprise when everything is done.
Oh... NICE! Can't WAIT to see how all of this unfolds. I will do a CS conversion at some point... just bought a Cali T so I am distracted by that (and other things non Ferrari related) at the moment but ONE DAY I'll finally get my 360 to my dream spec. Kudos and congrats, your 360 is going to be sick. Can't wait to see what style wheels you go with for that beauty.
Are the CF seats from a 599? I picked up some Sparco's and will have installed soon, but I really like the look of these CF seats.
I believe these came from a 430 based on the center leather design. Same overall sports seats as in the 360 just that the center has that ribbed look in the 430 vs. the smooth flat surface in the 360.
Car is back with some added carbon elements. Side mirrors, rear diffuser fins, and rear deck louvers. More things are coming hopefully next week or the week after. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
New wheels recently installed. So half way there...but still some other stuff that needs to be done. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Most definitely. I snapped the pics right after the car got off the lift for the install. But the car still needs to get lowered, CS front bumper and side skirts installed, KW coil overs, then finally a PPF full wrap. Hopefully this can all be done before end of July.
Oh yes. Liking the sound of all of this for sure! I eventually want to do this type of work to my 360 one day but haven't pulled the trigger on all the bodywork yet. Can't wait to see the end result! The fact that you are getting a wrap is intriguing... is it going to be a different color or just clear protection? Wondering what you're going to do but you have limitless options starting with an all black car. Excited for you, both of your Ferraris would be worthy of a video shoot once the 360 is complete. Kudos and congrats!
Thanks for all the kind words. I was originally going to wrap the car Grigio Telesto but the needing to crack open the headlights to wrap that portion was becoming a challenge. So will just do clear XPEL wrap. Mainly because this will be a semi daily driver.
Nearing completion. But still about 30% left to go on the project. More details to come. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice wheels - they look very familiar (have them on my car too!) Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app I installed the grey HRE center caps after this pic.
