    Looks great Greg.

    I still reckon you should consider a pit of a polish on those manifold runners though.

    I bought some polishing compound and some polishing wheels myself this week. Amazing how some of these old parts can come up.
    Just have to ensure I don't go overboard, then everything else starts to look a bit ordinary.

    you can't polish sand-cast manifolds, you have to plastic bead blast them. Not possible while installed.

    Personally, I think Greg's engine bay looks fabulous. A little bit of patina is a good thing.

    Thanks mate. I obviously have no idea RE alternators. Basically bought that particular unit because it was available online through a 928 specialist workshop in the US. I don’t have time during the day to go shopping, so ordering online is more convenient. Came with mounting brackets specifically for the 928, so it was easy for a novice like me more than anything else. NFI if it works yet [emoji3]
