    this topic came up in the photos thread......

    does anybody know if the AC units are different in the different spec cars?

    and if so, then can the USA spec unit be sourced, and retrofitted to the Euro spec cars?

    Very important for a Texas based car that’s for sure. I know there are retrofits units for “lesser provenance” cars that work like a Champ but how does someone feel about putting these in a F40 (no changes in panel, switching etc,, just the engine bay area).

    No car is fun when it’s 105 degrees in the cockpit.

    according to some, the units are the same regardless of market.
    so......i will just have to make sure my system is fully on spec and holding the charge.

    Having read the comments in the photos thread on the difference of european versus american ac‘s - I think that the difference lies in the filling of different refrigerant in US to Europe. Has a big impact from my point of view looking at different refrigerant types. Just my 2 pence....
