I do agree to a certain extend, I mean neither Ferrari driver is competing for the championship and I don't even think they're involved for the top 3 even. So saves going to the FIA gala at the end of the year.

I think you're being too pessimistic, i believe they will find out how to make the car work again, and there are some tracks where it will work just fine, i'm sure they will be better than Red bull, but of course, the way Red bull is operating makes it a lot easier for Max who has been driving superbly i must say...if Ferrari stops screwing Charles thing will start to get a lot better, starting in Canada.

Ferrari has 2 big problems: Their aero concept is wrong and they can't work the tyres. Red Bull has the tyre issue too but I believe they'll get that under control faster than Ferrari. Red Bull's biggest problem is the engine, which hurts them mainly in qualifying.

Red Bull's other problem is Gasly but with Ferrari too busy shooting themselves in the foot it's not an enormous problem, though it is much easier having a 2nd driver closer to #1 to use him as forcing other teams to cover! I hear Red Bull are interested in stealing Hulkenberg away from Renault...and I believe that will happen by summer break at the latest

If renault loses someone i guess they will try to get Ocon, after all, he won't have a place at merc and i'm sure they will let him go, and is clearly the best driver renault could get, or maybe Red Bull!

yeah, Ocon would not be welcome at Red Bull...they never liked each other and after Brazil that completely fell apart! Renault could take Gasly.

Renault would be much better served with Ocon, Gasly is not at his level...

If Ocon is under contract to Mercedes they won't let him go to a competitive team. I could see Renault but not Red Bull. I would like to see him at Haas to replace Grosjean, shake things up a bit.

Gasly isn't so bad, and constantly improving. Too soon to judge, IMO, and Honda likes him..

    11th, 8th, 6th, DNF, 6th, 5th with 2 fastest laps.

Interesting to see how RB will extract Hulkenberg from Renault, the teams aren't exactly on good terms, are they ?

Fastest lap is pretty meaningless metric of speed when a brand new set of tyres is bolted on at the end of the race. The only reason that's done is because he's so far away from 5th (or 4th if there was a DNF up front) that he won't lose a place....

His gap to Max is still enormous. I don't expect him to beat Max on merit, but the gap is embarrassingly large.

I agree. Marchionne's death, Ferrari politics, "upgrades," and Mercedes favoritism did not help create an environment that was conducive to performance. However, I still feel like Alonso would have at least taken it down to the end. There's a level of racing intelligence Alonso has that Vettel, and Hamilton, to a notably lesser degree, do not have.

LeC doesn't know how to be a good no2, how is he ready for no1? He needs a few more years (like Max did).

I don't think Ferrari would risk having 2 young guns.

I could see Lewis wanting to retire with Ferrari in 2021 after winning 2019 and 2020 titles.

Kvyat replacing Vettel would be amusing :p

Ricci and LeC would be the perfect pairing :D or bring back Alonso

I'm amazed at how people forget the huge amount of mistakes that alonso did as a Ferrari driver, and i won't even start at how crappy he is at developing a car and interacting with the rest of the team!

I guess you need to watch the post again....and i forgot to mention his total lack of skill or commitment in the last race....Charles just showed what is possible to do in a much more difficult circuit to overtake.....Alonso is just Hype, he makes great races like any good driver and makes mistakes like everyone else, but his poison to any team..he sucks, bad....

    here you go, enjoy!
