OK gents here are the codes from my car now here is what happened i removed the rear shocks and sent them to Delta Vee for rebuilding while the car was in storage. and with my limited knowledge of this car at the time i went and started the car while it was apart. just figured it was the thing to do occasionally, apparently not the smart thing to do. so what my long winded ass is asking is would that cause all these errors as there was no fault light prior to shock removal Image Unavailable, Please Login
Put sensors all back on and clear them. Probably not quite that simple, but the car is programmed to have data coming in. No sensors = no data, so the codes and errors exist. Once it sees the data, it will be better, but may need calibration. More technically knowledgeable guys will have the exact process, but if it was a Honda or Chevy it would do the same thing and I could clear them with my computer. You need an SD and looks like it is hooked up to one? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
thats just it i sent the control module out to be read and cleared i just don't want the errors to reappear reason for me asking. the guy that cleared them said that they were stored and not present
Don’t start again until all hooked up. Keep battery switch turned off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
As far as I can see (from the wiring diagrams), the Teves suspension ECU is unpowered until you move the ignition key away from OFF, but it wouldn't hurt to have the battery off until you have hooked everything up. The Bilstein unit has battery power on it all the time, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the fault detection circuits are operating.
thanks guys I appreciate your help I am old school but as a younger fella I had my hot rods all sixties gm products
When mine were acting up I listened to each with a stethoscope during the start up mode. They have a very distinct sound pattern. One wasn't the same so I knew where my problem was. You're in Milwaukee? Me too.
What a brilliant idea! You can check actuator operation by taking them off one by one and watching the actuators rotatate, but this will put errors into the ECU memory, which may make further diagnoses more difficult.
Yes, the only issue with this is that if the actuators are working fine (and the issue is below in the shock) they'll all sound the same. My problem was, like a dummy, I put a washer on upside down while assembling the shock so the gears weren't meshing properly causing the actuator to just spin when it should have stopped where the gear should have hit it's stop. The ECU should reset itself every time the battery is disconnected.
Also good to know, thanks. Sorry, had a senior moment. The "Teves" is ABS, not suspension. All F355's are fitted with Bilstein suspension ECUs. Therefore, the battery must be off for all suspension unit fitments.
