Mine certainly aren’t. You also cannot say not having to replace 200k worth of batteries isn’t inherently appealing to many.

Not what I heard. 812 TDF version is in the works most like for 812s 4th year of production.

From earlier this year, a member posted predictions on new models. This what he had to say about a VS 812. "8. 812 'TDF.' Yes a somehow more powerful blistering naturally aspirated large V-12 track oriented version of the prodigious 812 Superfast. As one of, if not the last of, its kind this will be a high priced limited edition car. Likely Limited to 799 pieces. Probably priced at $750,000 or more and approaching $1-million for Tailor Made cars. Prospective launch date 2020. Confidence level 80%". Clearly Ferrari are going to take money off the table at his predicted pricing leaving little premium for those allocated a limited edition. I belive the days of limited editions attracting a large premium ended with the F12tdf.

 

so 812vs will come only after few months of the 812 spider? If march 2020 unveiling of the vs is correct.?

Well it appears that someone is "all- in" and believes all the hype about the Valkyrie. Lets consider the history of reality. Ferrari has been producing better cars for decades. That is why I am not impressed just yet. But I am happy to be proven wrong. When the V starts beating every other marque at Le Mans or the Green Hell and at the auction block, thats when Ill reconsider my current opinion.

 

Mostly because the floor is raised, for aero purposes. From Ferrari's site:

"the front section of the chassis has been raised 15 mm compared to the central section of the chassis at the point where the vortex generators are located, thus increasing the amount of air channelled towards them and boosting their effect. "

A one-owner sub-$600k MSRP RC 2016 Tdf sold this week in Chicago via private transaction for $1.05M. So even 3 years later it is still trading at $450k+ over... How many modern cars have fared this well in secondary market?

 

No. I believe the TDF version to be unveiled in 2020.

how many miles? under 200 i bet. and thats before all these new cars have hit the market...if they stay in the 900s it will be one thing - but plenty can be had in the 800ks and the TM ones less, which makes sense.

 

Why would Taylor made cars trade for a lower price ? I would think that they would hold a better value considering the exclusivity ( let aside some extreme and wild configurations...)

 

Cuz virtually anything TM is so specific to that buyer than its unappealing to another buyer.

Most of them are Not done tastefully so those would lose out
But there have been a handful of owners that have done a
exquisite job those may see some good residuals - IMO

 

Where can I find a tdf in the $800’s? Is that USD? I would be very interested at that price point.

No. @JTSE30 is correct. The cooling system for the electric motors under the trunk is what eats up the space. There is at least 20 cm difference between the floor of the car and the floor of the trunk.

 

Wait and see. I've heard there will be a 812Tdf - just not limited edition. For that matter someone here posted that there will be a 812tdf spider too. rumors rumors....

 

My read and guesstimate:-

812 Spider - Limited production run (whatever that means for Ferrari)
812 'TDF'/'GTO' - Numbered Limited Edition (last of the 'regular production' NA V12's as we know them today).

Going forward V12 line for Icona and LE Hypercars only.

 

If your assessment is correct, and I believe it is, why aren’t 812s selling better on the aftermarket? Their production numbers seem noticeably lower than the F12 production numbers by the end of its 2nd year. Seems odd for the last NA V12 production car.

Today's 812SF is a relatively expensive car with too much speculative interest built up in it. As it's not going to be the final iteration of the line I'm not surprised that the market is a bit lukewarm on it currently and pre-owned prices will start to reflect that. Going forward however soon as it dawns upon people that this may in fact be the last of the accessible V12's, I would expect prices to stabilise and then remain buoyant. Again my read and guesstimate...........

 

The North American market appears to be under supplied for some time now with 812 allocations in favour of more Euro market builds. Part of that may stem from the desire to beat the arrival of the Euro required GP filter. Further resale can be tricky if it isn't just the perfect build spec for a specific customer. There is also the opportunity of maybe getting a Spider version allocation so the coupes just sit. Also perhaps current owners like there 812 so much they don't want to part with their Ferrari!

 

After the SF90 launch and the fact that Pista and F8 are available the 812 has become the forth fastest Ferrari hence the attention to it is dropping thats IMO
