From Letterman’s show on Netflix. Pretty good video on Lewis’ rise in F1.

Lewis had a good comment on how mentally draining the sport can be. If he goes through that winning as often as he does, I can’t imagine what Vettel goes through recently. It must be mental torture to have your name dragged through the mud.

I wouldn’t fault him if left at the end of the season as some rumors say. Hopefully not though, Ferrari has no real replacement for him.

    Hamilton inviting sympathy again ?

Every world champion in sport goes through the same, but Lewis sure likes to milk the sympathy vote.

Won't be tuning into this one with Precious.

Milking sympathy is the right word. He is the whingiest world champion ever....look at Jenson Button for example, Everything took forever, then team closed doors, suddenly they're back with days to spare....but a team with little money for development and a rapidly developing Red Bull behind them catching quick...he was under immense stress. Did you hear him moan? No. Got on with the job and was always seen with a permanent smile on his face. And don't think it was easy....yes they had a great start but after Red Bull caught up (and Mclaren!), Brawn simply didn't have the money to develop...and the car rarely finished on the podium suddenly! And no whinging. Ever.

As I expected, the usual critics have something to say about that show ...

Will watch it at home in 4K, looking forward to it.

Props to Hambone for admitting he suffered from mental health problems..

"It's definitely not just 'nothing but fun'. It's a hard, hard year," he (Hamilton) added. "Mentally, you have these massive highs when you win and then you have these massive comedowns. It's something I've never really spoken about, but you often do suffer from mental issues and instabilities.

More and more athletes in the US are coming forward to discuss their struggles with mental health and helping destigmatize it.

    Kevin Love NBA All-star
    Demar DeRozan NBA All-star
    Michael Phelps Olympic swimmer
Brandon Marshall NFL Pro Bowl receiver

Depression and suicidality affects millions regardless of race, country of origin, sex, profession and wealth. 1 in 5 Americans suffer from mental health issues, many believe this percentage is higher amongst professional athletes.

I don’t get the animosity for Hamilton.
I dont care for his ****** bag rock star imagery (tats, earrings etc) nor his uncontested dominance...but he actually seems like a pretty decent guy, to me. He doesn’t drive dirty, he says complimentary things about his opponents, seems kind of petty to hate him.

Does the name Schumacher sound familiar to you, interestingly all those calling every single Hamilton-critic haters are all at the front when it comes to bashing Michael. I guess this is called double standards.

To be fair most Hamilton luvvies do love Senna also, BUT, call out Schumacher any time they can and call him a cheat for crashing into Villeneuve....despite Senna doing the same premeditated! Double standard, eh?

Lewis wouldn't be nearly hated as much if he wasn't such a see-through ******** actor. Spirit of lauda, best fans, best track, favourite everything yada yada

They love Senna because he does. I really can't understand why though because you can't really say HAM is a dirty driver like his idol who stole Prost's 1990 championship as confirmed by Ron Dennis in his "tribute" to him:

"I remember, of course, the race in Suzuka [in 1990], where he and Prost collided at the first corner.

"I looked at all the traces, the brake and the throttle pedals, and you didn't need to be Einstein to work out what had happened."

Don't get me wrong, I do not say Lewis is a "dirty driver" but one should not forget he had a few "get together" with Rosberg fighting for the championship.
Difference: when Schumacher drives off Villeneuve he is the devil, when Lewis drives off Nico he is praised for his "race craft" compared to Nico.... if those are no double standards then I do not know what are...Lewis-worshipers have a very selective memory...

Watched it last night. What a great show. Letterman’s still got it! Elton was actually enjoyable. It did make me appreciate his journey more. Yes he takes every single opportunity to say something to gain every last drop of pity and emotional support from the public which is obvious and annoying. It’s a great watch.

I gave Schumi a lot of flak for driving like a 90's driver during his stint at MB. LewHam is a primarily clean driver unlike someone like SV or MV.

I don't mind him or his fancy pajamas. I don't like it when he gets in whinge on, but that's the same for any driver. He's not nearly as bad as he used to be, but I guess that comes from being at the front for 4 years.

The only driver that I can't stand is SV, who I think is the whiniest driver ever to sit in an F1 car. Ferrari must be going broke keeping that guy in fresh diapers.
