The 928 started on initial cranking, all good no leaks and the timing belt didn't fall off

I changed the diff and transmission oil as well as filter. Thought I'd bleed the brakes before I took it for a drive. 3 out of 4 calipers bled easily, the right rear nothing, no fluid at all even with removing the bleed nipple. I was on the phone with Carl at the time who suggested I check if I could spin the other rotors. Well **** me, they were stuck hard and the rotor with the caliper that had no fluid spun freely. Apparently the brake lines are arranged in diagonal system in the model and Carl thinks my Master cylinder is seized with some bypass occurring.

Oh well, the calipers look ugly and dirty anyway, so I will try and pull them off and send them to be rebuilt. A new master cylinder is on its way, may as well chuck new rotors on while I'm at it. Replacing brake lines too, the existing lines look dodgy with cracking of the rubber. I'd love to take the suspension off but that is beyond my comfort level, so I'll leave that for someone else to do one day

Completely unrelated and possibly of some interest to some, a 500 litre bottle of helium arrived today to top up one of our magnets (MRI machine). It's expensive stuff and with the rapid expansion of MRI worldwide in the last couple of decades there is now a worldwide shortage. Some more info here

Yep. I negotiated an “as is” price. The car had been sitting in someone’s collection for 10 years and it was pretty obvious it needed some Greg love. I was after a car could work on as a hobby, so it fit the bill perfectly [emoji3]
