Yes, they will if you have sport cats and rear boxes already. NR are the only ones that make an inconel one. And since you already opted for the inconel rest box then you are good to go!

Thanks for the insight. Your setup seems to be ideal.
Looking forward to hearing it some more.

The headers will make a difference! If you have already done the box and don't want to go catless. The 200 Cell sport cats should have made a bigger difference but if they did not make enough of a difference you also might want to go back to stock mufflers and keep the valves open. I have looked into these mufflers and they are very free flowing with the valves open.

Thx Eddie. I am in Houston, so quite a drive to SoCal, LOL.... but I will keep it in mind in case that I visit your area. In the meantime, I will settle with any videos that you share. Take care.

I’m running Larini 200 cell sport cats and OEM silencers with forza valve controller and sound is amazing.

Speciale silencers are almost nothing compared to standard Italia.

Would love to hear your Speciale some more, particularly the sound inside the cabin at low and high ROMs / accelerations. Your car sounds sooooooo good!
Hopefully you will have a chance to share more vids soon.

To me, once valves are set in open position, spending time on a aftermarket silencer will not increase sound as this is hidden in the OEM cats and also in the headers. Aftermarket headers will bring apart from sound, lower engine bay temperatures, increased reliability as OEM flexible joint fades with past of time and becomes dangerous at some point when it gets old, and of course better high end response.

So, IMHO, go for the headers and smile.

Aftermarket muffler will still change the sound. Stock Speciale uses an H-pipe. Most aftermarket companies use an X-pipe.

Also, valved systems will always be impacted by the muffler. Even with valves open, some of the exhaust will still go through the muffler or “quiet” path. This is why non valved systems are louder than a valved system, even if the valves are open.

Thank you! I’m still extremely happy with the setup.
In cabin, I will say that it doesn’t sound too loud...my DBS with Quiksilver exhaust and MurcieSV straightpiped are much louder in cabin.
I’ll work on some more vids!

Of note, I do have the Capristo remote linked up to my IPE system to open and close valves.

Speciale silencers are pure minimalism, nothing to do with standard 458.

    Thanks for info
I’m searching for solution for my new to me Speciale
Disappointed with the pitch/sound following my Italia with valve controller which was superb.

    +1

The issue is also above 5000 rpm
I’m not hearing the Italia scream in the Speciale
Sad they muffled this out at the factory.

Next step, sport catalyst (200 cel or even 100).

Then aftermarket headers or de restrict the OEM units.

Thus you will find the sound you are missing.

The true sound from Italia can’t be brought back. But as others have posted here, you can make improvements to the speciale.

However I concur, disappointing. I heard it was to prepare people for how poorly the 488 would sound but I doubt that.

I’m sorry but my Speciale with valves opened, 200 cel sport cats and headers simply rocks. Standard Italia cannot scream like her specially in the upper range.

If what you miss from 458 are pops and cracks, well, then take it to a specialist to perform a repro.

For pitch, the biggest change will come from changing the muffler. Almost all aftermarket brands will increase pitch because they all use x-pipe designs. Stock Speciale uses h-pipe. If you want volume, then cats are the biggest restriction. Headers is a combination of both. Most people do not get headers because it essentially doubles the cost of the entire system, but I would recommend it if it’s in budget.

In terms of brands, IPE is the most popular and highest pitch. Tubi is the loudest but low pitched.

My personal favorites are Kline and novitec. Good luck making a decision!

    Agree with both above...
The S line on my 16M is a simple X pipe and it transforms the low baritone of the Scud to a much higher cleaner pitch.
I used to think that it was the best F1 sound ever, but...
I feel like my IPE setup on the S is even better - louder, higher pitch and tone and brings back some of the pops and gurgles. For $10k on a $350k+ car, it is cheaper than some CF options on your S and is an absolute must.
Stock exhaust on both Scud and S is weak and meager.

Hi, I recently had the Novitec sport cats (200 cel) and their sport exhaust (stainles steel) put into my speciale but it hasn’t done much to the tone. What did you end up doing on yours to get a more f1 sounding tone?
