Our Noosa Hillclimb plans came unstuck today. After having to repair the inlet manifold, we found a boost loss caused by an incorrectly routed hose, fixed that and now the engine has ~20% more boost, so the fuel mapping is too rich at idle = it won't start. Managed to call in a favour with our dyno guy, who is buried under a backlog of cars, lots of mucking around to trailer the car to Penrith, then he discovered another crack in the inlet manifold. Not enough time to remove, repair, refit and dyno the car then drive to Noosa, so I've pulled the pin Image Unavailable, Please Login
You didn't have to come up with such an elaborate excuse to avoid embarrassment, the Lotus won't be there But bad luck on the car - at least it didn't lead to a major catastrophe

rats! I was really looking forward to seeing the car on the Hill. If it's any consolation weather is is poor... hope it's going to hild up for at least a few runs.
Yes, he'd especially like the fact that he tried to set up a company to explore "natural ways of making energy", which was not successful.
DWMC and I were pit ladies today for a mate's CanAm car. Very chilly at SMSP. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Noosa Hill climb ended up a great weekend... not many incidents on Saturday when it was wet, but heaps Sunday morning as the track dried out IN PARTS, but luckily no injuries although one bloke will have an expensive tow truck bill as 2 trucks were needed to retrieve his car from way down the gully opposite the finish line... Only 1 Ferrari ran (Dr M having fun in his f12). Fastest time of the day again by the guy (Michael von Rappard) who's held the record for a number of years in his Hyabusa engined open wheeler - down to 50 secs but thanks to other competitors who helped patch up his car after a bingle on Sat. Good fun weekend generally organised by Noosa Classic Car Club but all running of the actual racing by HRCC.
