In the past it has been stated that the Porsche 930 Turbo CV joint boot would fit the 355. I showed in a previous post, https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/144520821/ that this was incorrect. The 930 boot is too small and does not have the "lip" that fits into the depression in the 355 mounting flange.

However, after searching I have found a boot that does fit and has the required "lip". It is Porsche part 92833229302 available from FCPEuro for $53.97,

    https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/porsche-cv-joint-boot-rear-left-inner-911-boxster-por-92833229302

FCPEuro also sells an after marker version GKN Loebro 92833229302 for $3.49. which is guaranteed for life!

Here is a picture of the GKN part installed on the 355 mounting plate.

Junk. That is what I used last time and they lasted less the 5k miles, 5 years. And by the way, the picture is deceiving. 9.95 is for the boot only. It's 29.95 for the boot, grease, clamps and the mounting plate lit.

    I bought them at NAPA.

The Porsche clamps are 73 mm https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/porsche-cv-joint-boot-band-rear-left-911-boxster-por-91133225700 and 34 mm https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/porsche-cv-joint-boot-band-rear-left-boxster-911-por-92833225701

The clamps that came with the old (failed) Superformance boot were 74 mm and 35 mm so I didn't want to order the Porsche clamps in case they might be too small. The NAPA clamps are universal for big and small ends so I just cut off the extra length.

And a tip for anyone doing the job; make sure the clamp point is lined up between the flange bolt holes as shown below.

Negative, I just ordered two 9.95£ kits last month and it includes grease and both clamps, no plate though. As far as longevity I can't say, I'll just have to wait and see.

When I ordered a few years back I just got the boot. Maybe they forget to pack the grease and clamps. The boot I got from them dry rotted and split. Hope you have better luck. Your car looks like the twin of mine.

As a side note, GNK Lobro also makes the CV joints.

I know it hasn't been long, but how are those NAPA clamps holing up? I ordered the GKN Loebro 92833229302 boot, but the clamps Im gonna have to source out here somewhere cause we don't have NAPA store around.

No problem with the NAPA clamps. They are universal so you have to cut the excess length off. But other than that, they are fine.

Great post John, thanks. It's info like this that really take a lot of the perceived grief out of owning a 355. If one is willing to do some research and be patient, the rewards can be huge. :)
