    Hi everyone,

Most of the posters here do own Ferraris - however only a few have the 'owner' designation on their signature. How can one make that happen??

    Thx
    H

From the 2008 thread, but their may be a few changes...

Here's what is involved. You must be:

    1) A current Ferrari owner
    2) Confirmed as such by a moderator or by 3 users who have seen you and your car. Please send 5-6 confirming users if possible (in order to obtain 3 replies in a timely fashion) or the name of a moderator who knows you and your car. (Send me their USER ID's, please, I don't know every member by name. )
    3) Silver or Rossa Subscribed.
    4. Willing to post a picture of yourself and your car in the Garage thread along with the serial # and model details of your car.

    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/new-ferrari-owners-forum.194633/
Also, "confirmed" means actual eyes-on verification of ownership.

why wouldn't a picture of you and car along with registration be enough? What advantage does one gain by being a fake Ferrari owner? This seems like what I have to go through to get my new government drivers license.

I know that's been asked several times... call it tradition, or maybe just call it the rules. ;)

I get the rules. I just want to know what advantage one would have if they said they were an owner and they were not?

It's 5 members "if possible", but the requirement is for only three. Do you ever attend any car shows or other car-oriented get togethers? If so, maybe reach out to other Ferrari owners in your region to do the same, concurrently?

I believe that one of the objectives for establishing the ownership tag is to prompt us for getting out and meeting other like-minded enthusiasts.

When the Ownership "program" first started here at FerrariChat I was in my 4th year of hunting for a black 3.2 Mondial Coupe. When I found the car about a year later I was eager to attend the car events now as an entrant (there's no better place to park ;) ).

I was granted acces to the owners part of the forum but this somehow expired when i was a bit later renewing my membership.
There might be a thread in there were i introduce myself and the car.
However, because of the rules i've never bothered to get acces again.

I will say it does give a little 'cred' when posting. We get a huge amount of trolls and wannabes that pretend to own Ferrari to appear more knowledgeable then they are. Just a few weeks ago, this kid pretended to own a fleet of Ferrari. By itself harmless, but then he started giving 'advice' and 'guidance' based on his fantasies ....

The point of the owners' forum is that it is a social area where owners interact. Therefore, the method of entry is also social - i.e. meeting and interacting with other owners in person.

As I'm not an owner and don't have access, I can't really say what goes on in there. I am informed by typically reliable sources though that if meeting 3 people with your car is an insurmountable hurdle then you wouldn't get much benefit from what goes on in there anyway.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Yes, but why go through all the fuzz again just because i didn't renew soon enough? My introduction might still be in the owners forum but i can't access it anymore. Maybe a moderator can check if my details and intro are still there and remove it and confirm?

Did someone tell you to do it all over again? I didn't think that was the case.

If your subscription lapsed, the admin goes through (infrequently) and clears out non-subscribed owners. So you either got unlucky in the timing or your subscription had lapsed for quite a while. In any case, your garage is still there and if you wanted to, since you're now subscribed again, I would imagine it would just take a request to the admin to restore access.

Does anyone in the Owners Club who becomes a non-Owner ever get purged (or ask to be purged)? Just curious...

    Not that I know of.

Which is as it should be. Having owned a Ferrari puts anyone into a separate category.

OK, I'll accept that, but it leads me to a follow-up question: Has anyone who previously owned a Ferrari, but doesn't own one when applying, been admitted to the Owners Club?

Actually it's in the fine print somewhere. It's supposed to be current owners and users are expected to self report change of status (honor system). I know of a few users who did so and were removed. However, a couple were restored on reporting a repurchase later without having to go through a requalification.
