I think the 'author' just took the Ferrari roof mechanism and grafted it onto the C8 body. I was amused with the software/ technology used to create the video.
Anything is possible these days. The video animations my students produce amaze me.

Who is bitching? I said I don't believe the video because the engineering makes no sense. What exactly is wrong with that?

Did I say I didn't like it or it was stupid or he shouldn't have done it? No. I said I don't believe the car will work this way when we see it.

Someone needs to check their emotions.

    IT'S A RENDER....it's NOT the C8.

Let's see your render. And your video.....You're quite accomplished at telling anyone who will listen what's wrong with other's ideas (and talents).

Yea. Maybe they've decided to make the side scoop an option for buyers with bad taste!:D

Everyone is getting the scoop wrong. There was an article or quote somewhere saying it was identical curve to the Viper. I’m trying to get a photochop made of what this would look like.

That's what I think also. It's too easy in this day and time to 3D print a piece of plastic and affix to a body panel under camo to throw off the "renders". Certainly the CAD drawings of last year showed a totally different shape than we're seeing now.

For sure. As GM teases more and more (with less camo) leading up to 7/18, we will get even MORE couch designers telling us what GM did WRONG. I can hardly wait.

I know places like GMAuthority exists on "clicks", but this is a shockingly stupid piece and not original. Cadillac needs to fix it's product lineup, adding an ME sports car is the LAST thing they need.

I think he has raised valid concerns, all based on prior experience with Vette and Gm in general.
Its not unpatriotic to question when our Big 3 cheap out on cutomers, esp as they lost market share over 30 years with the exact issues being raised.

Where I think the article has it wrong is the Me vette will have plenty of cabin space and be as comfortable as a C7. Thats imo may compromise it as a mid engined car, making it too long and large, but that is a near non issue for the vette faithful. Also while the article is correct that most to nearly all vette buyers dont need a faster vette, its also true as we know that vette buyers whether they drive fast or not, all want the paper bragging rights.

Is abadoning the Fe format a mistake for the older clientale, its a question, but going Me is probably the only way to get younger folks into a vette. Therein lays the problem by going Me it will seriously be compared with porche ferrari lambo tec. While there will be a lot of lattitude given to the vette in terms of build etc, dynamicaly it will have to be on par, that means steering feel, brakes, motor etc, things that have not traditionaly been vette strong suits.

I think the Me car will do great for the first few years, whether it has staying power after that, all depends on how it looks and how well they develop it. Plus the big if, in other words how/if they compromsied the Me platform to meet comfort criteria for he traditional vette buyer.

I agree with JimmyB, the last thing cadillac needs is a me sportscar, what they need is proper cadillacs.

I don’t think you realize how important this picture is.

This photo is indefinite proof, and the final nail in the coffin of the heavily debated “triangle scoop” on the door.

It isn’t there in this picture. And you can clearly see the outline of the REAL side scoop on the side.

Now there are "scoop truthers" trying to expose a conspiracy theory that the current side scoops are fake. :)

I think they will. If it's priced where we think it is I see Vette sales higher than ever.

And the Cadillac version also has a lot of potential in its coat tails.

Maybe someone will come out with aftermarket scoops that actually look good. :). New business opportunity!

Give Chevy some credit. They could have gone the cheap and easy way out to make the C8 yet another variation of something at least 30 years old. They didn't.

    I agree, I think this(these) could be a revolutionary car(s) for GM...
