Who cares what the media report on?
Doesn’t change anything regarding their idiotic gun laws and the obvious connection between them and the constant massacres.

 

A more interesting comparison is how the homicide rate compares.

A quick look at that first graph shows that homicide accounts for 0.9% of those 13 causes mentioned (which themselves make up 88% of total deaths), so 0.792% of all deaths.

Bringing that number to Australia, if we had the same rate of homicides, that would mean in 2016 there would have been 1255.
There were 452, and 2016 was not a good year.

Read the fine print: all the figures have been "normalized to 100% so they represent their relative share of the top causes" which is a different thing to ACTUAL figures. Homicide isn't even in the CDC list of top 10 causes of death...https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/hus/2017/019.pdf
FBI showed around 17,250 out of 2.744m deaths to be 'homicide' (.6%)

 

I imagine the NRA would suggest 17,250 homicides is quite an acceptable number, especially when some of them are probably criminals and none of them are their own family members

 

If you read the fine print it doesn’t say that homicides were in the top ten.
It says the top ten, plus homicides, drug overdoses, and terrorism.

In 2016, Australia recorded 158504 deaths, so even at 0.6% homicides*, that’s 951.
We recorded less that half that (452), in a bad year.
For example, there were 414 in 2017.

* my figures are still correct. 0.792%

 

Instead of using your imagination maybe you should try facts
