Found a Certified Pre-Owned 488 I like with a couple of years left on the warranty. What's the "Certified" worth on the price of a pre-owned car and would you skip doing a PPI on a certified car seeing as its in theory been gone through by Ferrari and under warranty?

I can't put a number on it if that is what you are looking for, but when I bought my first pre-owned Ferrari, I wanted one that was a certified one owner car and was originally sold by the dealer new. It also came with a 12 month powertrain warranty as well as the balance of the factory maintenance plan. If I was spending twice as much as I've ever spent on a car, I felt it was necessary for piece of mind.

Yeah, they seem to come at a premium to the non-certified ones but I want it for the peace of mind. Pulling the trigger tomorrow. Hope the whole experience lives up to my expectations.

Just my opinion, but you're spending somewhere around $300K for a car. Spending $500 to $1000 for a competent PPI is a requirement.

Do a search here for people who bought certified cars and thought they had no worries.

    Bingo.

And also, the inspection is only as good as the person performing it.

For the 458/488 segment, concours results aren’t really relevant, but let me just say that for older cars ‘platinum award winner’ just means that it’s shiny. Not that it runs.
