My guess is Ferrari will choose who gets the car and it will be limited by production run time.

If the price is increased quite, then the game of Ferrari decides who gets the car will play major role of car being sold out for certain.

Also, they know they will have almost 2 years to run at max so they can not afford huge wait list.

Anyone care to take a guess at the name? Will it really be as "simple" as 812 Superfast Spider or will we perhaps see the Barchetta name make another appearance? I kind of hope for the latter. I think the Barchetta name fits a front engined GT a lot better than Spider. To me a Spider is a targa styly mid engined sports car.

Isn’t the Aperta name just for the limited production convertibles? And the 812 convertible is suppose to be a normal production car?

Would love to see if they update the interior to the SF90 tech or keep it as is.

‘Normal production’ relative to Ferrari I meant, and I got that impression from fellow Fchatters that posted on this thread previously (not info I have been told myself)

    Can't see that happening.
They recently used it for the 599 SA, LaFA and the 458 SA. Seems like it was a bit of a fad around that time. The Pista did not get the name, nor did the F12 Super America or what ever it was called.
What other interesting and historical Ferrari names existfor V12 Ferrari drop tops? Will also be interesting to see what they will name the 812 VS.

My guess is that it will be normal like the Speciale and Pista. Low volume, but no numbers, LE stuff or invitations needed. Maybe 300-400 per year.

I'm pretty sure this is right.
My info is that there will be a lot of disappointed potential buyers.

Man, those line are gorgeous! Has not liked a single Ferrari drop to V12 GT since the 550 Batlrchetta. But that looks amazing and extremely well proportioned.

I think they will produce more Spiders than Coupes, so probably 1000+ per year (worldwide), currently USA dealers are still receiving 50% or less of their expected 812 coupe allocations. I believe the factory is holding back to let those allocations out for the Spiders and keep coupe production low (best I can figure less than 500 812 coupes have been made for USA to date).

Limited production so demand likely to substantially exceed supply.

1000 812 Spiders per year? That's a lot more than Pista Spiders. 812 Coupè numbers are decling as the car gets older, and yes 300-400 per year may be on the low side. 600700 maybe. But I can't imagine 1000. That's a lof of front engined V12 cars in a market that has already been somewhat saturated with both the F12 and 812.

One has to assume that they will also offer an 812 Spider VS and be the swan song for the 812 platform.

    812 VS - Geneva 2020
    812 VS Aperta - Paris 2020 or Geneva 2021

    according to this:

    http://carsalesbase.com/european-car-sales-data/ferrari/ferrari-812-superfast/

534 812's for MY2018 (Europe averages about 33% of total worldwide, so, presume 1600 812's for MY2018), so 1000 Spiders per year is completely reasonable figure (to me at least)
