I stand corrected John. Sal recently did the major on GD's 355 and the bill was much larger. It's a fabled 2.7 car, but seems to break down every time he uses it.
That's not going to work for you. Moretti's car will have more peak HP and torque than yours regardless.
Whilst being a prick in every other way, that's precisely why I bought the 308 when it came up,because of the mechanical history. How the weird **it with the g'box gaskets came to be is a mystery but the thing was brilliant to drive.
FMS service is quoted at $7500, but that's for a standard no other fault service for engine out, got that from the service manager
FMS servicing costs are very competitive with the independents these days, plus you have full recourse if anything goes wrong.
Good to know, I’ve found their service parts cheaper than anything on evil bay and very helpful too boot (bigger stuff Eurosparesuk) Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I would not use any independent currently, from what I've heard, they're all hopeless and can't sort anything complicated
Of course I know it’s a hot-rod in terms of Motec but in every other way it’s a “2.7” (airflow etc. etc.)
They supplied and fitted a new tie rod end for free when they mucked me around once and previously fit FHP springs I supplied for free. AND I get a Ferrari stamp in the service book
Fair enough but there are a lot more differences to the “2.7” and the “5.2” than just the ECU, as I’m shure you know. And, of course, the 5.2 is superior...
My major is due at the end of this year and I must say I’m surprised by the pricing the dealer has mentioned - on par what I paid last time at an independent. They’ve also been perfectly happy to fit any non-genuine parts I’ve supplied and of course one gets the Ferrari stamp as you say.
Yep, also, a power steering hose needed replacing, so the service manager organised for the fittings to be sent to Pirtek and had one remade as he said the Ferrari hose was ridiculously expensive
Correct 1st photo is a 2.7, 2nd a 5.2. The revision was to make the cars legal in the USA, lost torque and hp. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
btw, notice the motorised valves on top of the shock absorbers? Another expensive and frequently failing 355 feature.
