    That is only the asking. These cars (Alonso 599s) sit forever and never sell at their asking, if they sell at all. Most of the premium over a standard 599 is due to the fact that they have very little mileage and are the latest production 599s. The Alonso paint job does not get any premium. Its the same for the 70th anniversary cars (none selling at their elevated asks).

    Interesting. If data supports this then that would answer the value question around here when they were first being allocated. I got the feeling that many were accepting thinking resale would make money or they had to accept to stay in good graces.

    I doubt many accepted thinking resale would make money, it was more of the latter (good graces bit), at least according to the members here who bought them (and of course some liked these cars and wanted them!). I think the higher resale price (short lived-) dreams were an after effect of the astronomical price paid for the green jewel car at the auction in Maranello.
