Finally some common sense prevailed. That aside, I'm looking forward to many more races with Charles duelling Max. Reminds me of Gilles vs Arnoux.
Good, let them race! As long as they don't crash on purpose or drive dangerously, they should be allowed to race. There needs to be a line between reckless driving and competing, but the rules are going too far these days
Yeah, I may talk a lot of ****, but once in a while, even I can get it right! This weekend was all about trying to deflect the interest in Pirelli tyres and steward bias, hence Elton’s grid drop, and this decision..... the race win by anyone other than Mercedes was just the ticket, and to be able to deny ferrari at the same time, they must be waking up with damp trousers!
Yep, and this goes back to my earlier comments that I think GPDA and FIA should sit together and hear each other out. Basically, apply indycar rules.
Wonder how many times we'll see kamikaze pass attempts now ... Driver A turning-in to apex, Driver B out-braking on the inside, maybe barely braking at all ... pushing Driver A completely off the track on the outside, with contact. Bumper-car racing, here we come! (as long as Ferrari is on the losing end, it seems)
So all this would not be a theme if Seb did not get the penalty in Canada.... Today's incident makes look Sebs penalty even more ridiculous... Based on that they should have penalized Max, based on "let them race for excitment" they should have not. If they did they would have pissed off even more race fans (all dutch) than they already have. I think Sebs penalty set a mark every future incident will be compared with (At least this season).. I'm a Ferrari fan. But i show my support, by holding them (Ferrari team, drivers) accountable. I thought the penalty against Vettel was fair (3 weeks ago), given the state of rules today. I think the non-penalty against Verstappen today is UNfair, given those same rules. It really is, quite arguably, an anti-Ferrari bias among the stewards.
I heard the comment today that with gravel instead of tarmac next to the track Leclerc might have backed off admitting he lost out, with the huge run-off there is much less to loose... so again today's incident might be because of the track layouts rather than the character of the drivers as I doubt that this is different from the past ones. I'm satisfied, however disappointed from a Ferrari point of view. The pass was aggressive but proper. It's top level racing. It's interesting that the best race of the year came one week after the worst race of the year. Now I'm looking forward to Silverstone. Seb won there last year.
