Rest of the cars were fine but I really thought that was a special car... Another good one that this crowd will like. 95 spider Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nero 430 spider f1 I love the 70 anniv boards shown on the wall behind. I’m working on similar pieces for my garage. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
Cannot imagine how I missed Robb's thread on this F355 but only when he and I came into contact have I become aware of his stewardship of my auld drop-dead gorgeous blu scuro micalizzato car. I am owner #5, having acquired this unique example from Andrew in July 2012, actually collecting the car at Ferrari New England as it emerged from a full major belt service. Enjoyed her through two driving seasons, shared with my 575M, 412, Maserati Spyder, Cadillac STS-V (a splendid car) and everyday CTS. I'm now 88, was almost 82 when I sold the car to #6. While I still thoroughly enjoy 'parade' laps at the Glen and Lime Rock - in the early 1960s I held an F.I.A. International License as Competitor and Driver - and raced in France - the mind may be willing but the body, etc etc. The F355 went mainly because as I have aged, it became less than comfortable to contort my 6 foot frame into her. And out. Learning that the car had come into Robb's care has been a delight and relief. when I sold the car to Gary he said it would be a long term keeper. Within months I saw that it was in the hands of a Chicagoland dealer offering it at a price w-a-a-y over market. Happily she is now in the correct long-term home. Good luck and Godspeed, Robb.
More from the visit to the DC dealer Another Corsa Blu 488 (at least I think that’s the right color...) Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
2 things Robb... 1. How did I not know about this?! . What a beautiful car. Congrats on your find, this car deserves an owner like you. 2. Why didn’t I know you were in DC! . Hit me up next time, and we will see if the CIA will let us in for our second visit.
I usually get to visit DC a couple times a year. I will definitely see you next trip... but only if we can hang out in the situation room at Langley. I was fairly impressed with the rest of the place. Blu F355 is definitely my forever car. Been looking for the stars to align on one that color for like 15 years... Now I just have lots of work to catch up to Elliott, Jim, and Dave among all the other restorers... Robb
The dealer was having some sort of mini rally today with two Lusso’s and many portofinos. I am a fan of both models. But it was hotter and steamier than SE Asia today in the metro area. So I would have been testing out the A/C on max and keeping those roofs welded shut. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Inside the shop from the waiting room windows were some cool cars getting serviced. Lot of variety. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
And this 70th anniv lusso which I saw last year. Matching painted wheels. Historic livery. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The challenge car will be moving on to new caretakers next week and is staying in the US. They plan to regularly drive it on track as well as feature it in an automobile museum. They like it’s history in particular. So we will be adding another cool car to the garage before winter. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
Good question. Probably a v12 or 360 Modena for something dif from the 355. Can’t stretch to a CS... so that’s not in the picture. Robb
