Are you sure that Westlake 512 is still for sale? Somebody recently confirmed to me that it did in fact sell

 

I did t call recently but it’s listed still on their websight for 249k

 

What did he say he bought it for?

 

Ok you made me call over there. Not happy lol. The salesman says he’s taken a deposit on the car and will be giving the guy a week to buy it. The sale price is 220k and needs a major. But has good records

 

Giving the guy a week to buy it. What a tool. As if he’s got people lining up to buy it.

 

So if you put a deposit down on a car you’d be ok with a salesperson letting another buyer come in over the top of you?

I don’t understand what about taking a deposit makes the salesperson a “tool.”

 

If I gave a deposit then I’d expect to define the length of time it would take me to pay the balance not the salesman ‘giving him a week’. I should declare that I hate car salesmen with a passion. They add literally no value to the customer. None.

Thats the car I looked at when it was at auction here in Scottsdale. Sold for $130+ 10%

 

I’ve been keeping my eye on that auction all week. I still can’t believe that somebody converted it from a single mirror to a double mirror

 

I know! Very strange behavior!

 

To me it makes total sense. In hindsight the single mirror is cool and unique but at the time it was just a sign that you got one of the early models with its various “flaws.” Plus two mirrors are easier to live with in practice. It would likely be very easy to convert it back to monospecchio. Just might cost a few $k.

Fwiw this car looks good. But if I were buying it I would look it over closely in person. Theres no doubt it had miles on it prior to its import but none of these are documented. The question is how many.

Also, the US style side reflectors on the sides of the front and rear bumpers look stuck on. Hopefully there are no holes drilled as then it would be easy to remove them.

The interior looks incredible. This is THE white TR to pursue if you want one, just plan on buying some aftermarket wheels since these are metric and tires do not exist.

! reserve not met. Terrible day to end and auction on. Everybody’s on vacation. I was literally the only guy at my office today

 

Glad it didn’t hit reserve. Car is worth much more. Too bad there’s no documentation of the odometer before the import. Thats going to hurt it.

2-Domani motors,11k, advertised 129k, will take 120k need service
3-Continental autosport, 18k, advertised 119k, 124,5k with service
4-Ferrari of Atlanta, current on service, issue with odometers,20k miles,advertised 90k, owner will take 96,5k last I heard
5-Cauley Ferrari, classiche, 14k, current on service, wants 145k. 130k ish get it
6- Rnk charlotte,3year old service,25k miles, advertised for 120k will take 100k
7-Ron Tonkin,7k, needs service, luggage, advertised 135k, will take 125k
8-GT lounge, serviced, wanted 129k, sold 125k

imo the tr is still the best buy and one that will just climb.355 and 328 are close to askingprices of the tr and the tr is the best buy .

 

This has been the case for over 20 yrs already with the 328. Doubt it will change.

 

Unless, ofcourse, if you are like me and desire a 512TR. I guess exclusivity breeds value. If only I would have had the bug a short few years ago.....

 

agree ,but tr are still a great buy for now that will change next turn around.
