Not sure if this has been discussed before, but Pilkington, the company that makes vintage windshields, manufactured a reproduction of the Saratoga top for the Porsche 944 sunroof just a few years ago. The 944 guys had asked them to do a run, and they accommodated it. I’m not sure if they have the rights to reproduce the other Saratoga Top models, but might be worth a shot to see if they can reproduce the 308/328 tops. I sent their customer service folks an email to inquire about them reproducing a run of these tops. I’ll post when they respond.

I found the company who bought the rights to the Saratoga tops but they stated they are no longer making them.

Actually, I went searching my email for the details, looked up the company to see that they were bought out late last year by another company - so have emailed them to see if they were planning to remake them, or whether they would consider a one off bulk order to remake a limited run of them. Will post if I hear anything.

Put me down for one realistically priced, brand new Saratoga top.
Imagine that. Now that would ruffle a few feathers.

I struck out with Pilkington. They claim they don’t have the tooling required for a targa top. (But they could do sunroofs with similar frames and latches?). Oh well.

Same here with the company that owns the Saratoga top rights. Business must be so good they can ignore potential new customers.

Somebody should buy the rights from them and reproduce the Saratoga Top.

The original company I contacted bought the rights 20 or 30 years ago - possibly bought the whole company and the rights came with it, and I presume the same for the latest sale. From their side, the market probably isn't big enough to get into remaking them. Corvettes however - another story.

This^ And how chances of being sued have jumped over 20/30 years. Cost of product liability insurance probably more than you would see in profit.

I guess it doesn't just boil down to the small number of 308 S out there, but the number of their owners that will spring for one for a few grand.

That just cannot possibly be a very big pool of customers

How do you get to “ferrariads”? I’ve tried to directly enter the address and google it but nothing comes up.
