Nothing. Vettel total mistakes outweigh the nice drive. One he should consistently have vs the occasion. More of this from him is expected each weekend. Strange how Binotto question publicly his performance of late and we see his good drive. His status is in question no doubt at some level.

Rosberg thought Binotto harsh for doing this lol. He does not appear to see posts here lol. :)

One good race once in a while will not help Vettel to keep his job, IMO.

He may keep it due to cost factor but I see Ferrari sympathetic enough to retain for 1 more year. We may be surprised yet :)

Ferrari is just as guilty as Vettel in not getting results.

The car is unreliable, the chassis is poor, the aero concept is ****. Great engine but nothing they can do with it...and unreliable. So perhaps not such a great engine?

Frankly Ferrari makes themselves look like fools by winning the winter championship once again. Red Bull started seriously on the back foot with a much lower powered engine, a too tightly packaged rear end that led to overheating and are right on top of sorting the issues out. The engine is reliable so far, and upgrades have been successful resulting in more power and so far good reliability. On the chassis/Aero side Red Bull has done consistent, good work resulting in plenty of progress.

Ferrari? What have they really achieved so far? Here and there an update but the result is that they went from being ahead of Red Bull and even challenging mercedes, to falling well behind Mercedes and even Red Bull.

Ferrari have a great driver pairing (imo the best of the field...not the best driver in 1 car but 2 very very good ones in both).

It's not coming together for Ferrari. I believe both drivers are pushing the car harder, which leads to inevitable mistakes for both drivers.

Vettel needs a car specific to his driving style, 2014 clearly showed that. Not everyone can be Schumacher, Alonso or Verstappen.

Alone in the car Vettel has a nice clear and current history of mistakes at the very wrong time. Thats not the team. Its the driver. He takes a fast car and does not take advantage when needed at critical times. Binotto is actually correct and so is everyone else in the business expecting MORE not less from a 4X WDC. This is utterly conventional wisdom.

I have said it before, Vettel is beyond his peak and has been on the decline for some time..
He is still a very fast driver, and among the top 5, IMO, but not good enough to be Number One at Ferrari.
He has become what Kimi has been for years.
He doesn't bring regular results to the team, and makes too many mistakes for a driver of his experience.
He can still have the occasional flash of Genius, and, from time to time give a spirited drive like yesterday, but he won't win a championship anymore.

I can see Vettel winning again. He must drive as he did in Hockenheim. Every session every weekend to eliminate the driver link to Ferrari's overall weakness. Same for Charles. That is the only way to take advantage of the car's strength minus the team's mistakes. We shall see.

Didn´t you just tell us you he is not....
Do you base your top five on the results weekly now or do you simply not care about what you wrote a week before???

A fast car yes, not the fastest.

Frankly I can only see Alonso or Verstappen having won a title in that car. That does not mean Vettel is a bad driver, he is far from bad. I think he still is among the very best of the current field, just not THE best.

Indeed he won't as long as he does not drive for a team offering a better overall package.
The issue is that he's considered getting old, so that opportunities to join a real contender will rarify. Maybe he's been too nice to Ferrari - he should have done everything to join Mercedes by now...

Kyvat drove rings around Elton this weekend, are you going to tell us now Kyvat having beaten Elton is the best driver out there, bar Seb and max? Thought not. That’s how much sense this bollocks about Kyvat makes, he is at TR for a reason, and it’s not because he’s the best driver in the field

Exactly, now you know how the rest of us felt when you were putting Kyvat above ricciardo and Vettel in the driver stakes, and arguing profusely against anyone that disagreed. I assume you realise my post was sarcastic?

Bring back Alonso. Guaranteed results, if not a WDC.

Vettel will have a problem finding a seat once his present contract with Ferrari expires.
He may not want to carry on by then.
Let's be honest, now he is just tarnishing the reputation he built during his years at Red Bull, with his 4 titles.

You may have me confused with another poster, i only stated the fact that Riccardo got beat by Kvyatt 2015 and asked why some people sweep it under the rug, but they won't sweep Ham getting beat by Rosberg under the rug.

I reckon he is one of those who will quietly disappear when he retires. No Vlogging for him.i mean he is almost invisible now between races so very easy for him to just blend into life with the wife n kids, nothing wrong in that .

Yes, it would be a big surprise if he would discover youtube and twitter all of the sudden...Yet we are talking of guys at the early 30s, that might be a little bit early for a private life doing nothing at all. It is difficult for some in their mid 60s to kill their time but starting at early 30s??? I mean one day you have seen the entire world, and what then?

    What team has he destroyed???

Renault f****d themselves over with crashgate.
McLaren got f****d over by Ron Dennis favoring Elton the first time over their 2x WDC
McLaren then f****d themselves over the second time by giving Honda unrealistic goals with their size zero car and not willing to compromise on the design and then completely blaming Honda for their failures. Only recently have McLaren finally admitted they were on the wrong path with their car design. McLaren have been on the decline LONG before Alonso got there, even Elton was still there when the decline started and he made the switch over to Mercedes realizing this.
Ferrari have f****d themselves over and over for a long time now too. The team and their strategies are like a comedy. How many team principals have they had since the glory days of Schumacher?? Mattia Binotto, Maurizio Arrivabene, Marco Mattiacci, Stefano Domenicali, Jean Todt....

Agree'd- Domencalli stated FA was not the problem at Ferrari. Also stated he worked harder and spent more time in the factory with personnel than any other Ferrari driver. That is quite a compliment. How long did he need to wait. He gave 5 key years of his life to Ferrari and did the maximum. He gained more out of sub standard Ferrari's that any other driver.

He also laid bare the myth of Kimi and had zero issues with him. A complete defeat in equal machinery.

So you repeat it, yet don’t think it was you? Hmmm. Ok

No one claims ricci is the goat, but you all
Claim Elton is, hence its far more important to ask why he got beat by Rosberg if he is so great. The answer- cos he isn’t. End of argument

Forza Ferrari..... the only racing team and car marque that matters. Italia forever It’s easier to apologise than it is to ask permission
